Yes. That is why I said we miss Patrick. Opponents are now able to concentrate on Bader. With dangerous strikers on both sides of the field, they wouldn’t be able to do that. Past time for our freshmen to step up and give Macy some help.

The schedule says the match is at noon. Why in the world would you have senior recognition over a full hour before that? Very disapointing for me. I’d like the see our players go through the ceremony, but ,lord, what would I do to kill that hour?

Drink a couple of beers???

Nah. I want to be in stands when the match starts on the off chance that something might happen and not in the bathroom recycling beer.

And scoreless at the end:

I respect soccer and the athletes who play it. But please remind me why anyone would get so excited about soooo many scoreless ties?

Scoreless ties are like kissing your sister.

I’m a soccer junkie and I hate them.

This is why I, being someone that is trying to get interesting in soccer, just see nothing but watching grass grow. Really having a hard time finding anything to get excited about.

World’s most popular sport. Ya’ll belly aching reminds me of the old story of the lady after a baseball game saying “How boring. No hits”
That said, I give you that soccer takes a little work to understand. If you are not inclined, there are plenty of other ways to occupy a couple of hours.

Well, have to admit that the 2024 Niners WSOC (1-7-6) aren’t exactly must see this season, especially after last year when they were 9-7-4 - though inexplicably better away from the QC than in it. The one positive I can take away from the recent 0-0 matches is that we didn’t allow the opponent to score.

I first watched soccer when my mother took me to matches while she was in grad school, so I’ve been invested for some time. I would recommend giving playoff bound CLTFC a look but MLS shooting itself in the foot with the Apple TV thing, IMO. Of course, pro futbol not immune to scoreless matches, but definitely not the norm.

As I said, I am trying to get interested in soccer and just recently started watching a couple games and they have done absolutely nothing to excite me to the point that I can’t do without watching them. And someone like you makes comments as noted, really does not help the fact that I was trying to understand the sport. You, I think have supported the fact that I probably need to find other ways to occupy my time. Thank you!

clt recommends watching pro or international matches first, more pace and action than ncaa level play

Love the Niners but from an entertainment standpoint college soccer is one of the worst. I would recommend watching professional/international soccer and then working down

The pros are better, but the Niners men’s team is really good. They have such excellent touch and control and creative passing. We are just in a scoring drought the last couple of weeks. If you know the game though you can see the quality in us winning the ball over and over at midfield and in our varied styles of attacks.

Maybe find some other way to trash the sport than on a thread which is specifically about Niner soccer? Appreciate the effort to support.
