Street & Smith’s recently published the 100 Greatest College Basketball Programs of All Time. The criteria they used included: NCAA Tournament performance, NIT Tournament performance, conference success, all-time winning percentage, 1st-round NBA draft picks, graduation rates, NCAA infractions, and mascot ferocity.
The 49ers are the youngest program (I think) to make the list.
