First time Iāve seen the ladies play under Aston, they are a very well coached team. She pushed all of the right buttons in the second half, itās amazing how far discipline and good coaching will carry a team.
None of the first round games take place in NC, SC or VA. Theyāll just have to get to the Sweet 16 so we can see them in Raleigh!

Exactly right.
-Great comeback led by a very well coached team.
CONGRATS TO COACH ASTON AND ALL THE LADIES 49ERS
-lets make even more noise in the tourney !
I watched the game on TV today, and saw the womenās team for the first time. They played very well, and seemed to be a pretty young team. I know they lose a couple of players this year, and not sure what they have coming in next year, but they could be good for a few years. There is some great talent in the Charlotte/Metro area over the next few years in high school for girls. Hopefully, we can keep some hometown talent at home.
I was thrilled when I found out that the game was on ESPN because as it is Spring Break I am in FL with a bunch of friends (from Charlotte, ECU, App, and Gardner Web). It was great still being able to see them play and even better to get a win, especially in front of all my friends most of whom were pretty excited, especially my friend from Charlotte who goes to ECU.
I think that Coach Aston is a great coach. I hope that we go far in the NCAA, I would easily drive to Raleigh for a game.

Slide show is great, props to David Foster for some fine work in catching the emotion!
Now⦠congratulations to Karen and her staff as well as the players. The thrill of seeing their emotions tonight was well worth the driving down for 3 consecutive days.
And to the fans who attended the games, especially tonight⦠you are what makes being a 49er great. It was a boisterous, rowdy atmosphere from the tip-off through the awards ceremony.
I have an idea, letās make this a common occurrence! :49ers:
Note: I took 404 photos tonight, over 375 from the final minute through the net-cutting. Whew!
for those who want to get ahead of themselves, the Niners would likely have to beat UConn to get to the Final 4, given how this region is displayed
Uh that was before the final tonight. Iād be shocked if we were any higher than an 9 seed, though we should be a 7 seed.
Great game tonight and a really great tourney!! I thoroughly enjoyed the games and will definitely attend many more games next year!
Looks like another womens coach we want be able to hold on to
3 coaches in 6 years and they still havenāt missed a beatā¦hopefully we can hang on to Karen!! I suggest you email her or stop her next time you see her and just thank her. Itāll go a long way towards keeping her in Ninerlandā¦
