Saint Louis received a verbal from Jonathan Smith a 6-7 guard/forward from Grove City, Ohio.

The A-10 has done pretty well this week, with verbals from three who were getting plenty of power conference attention. Kudos to La Salle, St. Joe’s, and Xavier!

Sounds like Saint Louis got a good one, too, according to the eval on Smith. Not highly recruited but just the type of player who will flourish in the Majerus system.

Not a bad pickup for Temple. Another long, athletic wing. Rivals profile

Updated list to reflect Braswell to Charlotte and his Hargrave teammate Freddie Riley to UMass.

A-10 is recruiting very well. Setting itself up to be a very strong conference in the near future. Hopefully it can continue with little to no transfers out.

UMass picks up another SG for 2009 in 6-4 Javon Farrell of Riverdale Baptist School (Upper Marlboro, MD)/DC Assault.

As that article points out, UMass has also received a couple of verbals for 2010 as well in 6-6 Max Esho (a DC Assault teammate of Farrell) and 6-8 Raphael Putney.

Updated to reflect GW’s first commit – 6-6 F Kinley Branch of Stone Mountain, GA.

St. Joe’s gets another commit in 6-9 F David Bruce of Linden, NJ who picked the Hawks over offers from Rutgers and St. John’s of the Big East.

Bona gets a commit from 6-2 SG Ali Odd of Philly [prepping at Apex Academy in NJ]. That leaves only URI with no commitments.

Karl Hobbs has been busy as Jeff Goodman of FOXSports.com reports 3 more commits for GW in 6-6 SF Darryl Smith of Bridgton Academy (North Bridgton, ME), 6-8 SF David Pellom of Charis Prep (Goldsboro, NC), and 6-9 C Daymon Warren of Worcester Academy (Worcester, MA).

Saint Louis picks up commit from 6-8 PF Cory Remekun of Mesquite, Texas.

Saint Louis picks up another commit – this one from Down Under in 6-4 SG Christian Salecich of the Australian Institute of Sport (same school that produced current collegians Patrick Mills of Saint Mary’s and Andrew Ogilvy of Vanderbilt, as well as Andrew Bogut of the Milwaukee Bucks).

Thus far NLIs have been received by Dayton (Kavanaugh), La Salle (Murray), UMass (Farrell), Richmond (Brothers and Robbins), and Saint Louis (Remekun, Salecich, and Smith).

Updated the list to note Braswell’s signing, as well as Ryan Brooks for URI. A-10 is picking up some nice players!

NLI is in for Freddie Riley.

Awesome. I’m sure Chris Braswell will enjoy playing against his Hargrave teammate.

This should be the last one for us. Derek Kellogg sure hasn’t wasted much time completely overhauling the roster. Now we find out if he can coach…
