if transfers cosists of guys we wont see play until 09’ wouldnt spears be on that list? Or are we still waiting on NCAA regs to tell us whats up with him?

Thanks for catching that. Not sure where my mind was on that one! :huh: :tongue:

BTW, I may have gotten carried away on the UMass list. Bailey isn’t confirmed yet, though it looks fairly certain he will follow DK to Amherst.

This either increases the chance of Spears’ being eligible for the upcoming season …

Here is an interesting article about UMass’ never-a-dull-moment scholarship situation. Last year, “UMess” had 13 players on scholarship, 3 enrolled players waiting for a scholarship (Lynch, Wilcher, and Wake Forest transfer Anthony Gurley), and a preferred walk-on (Sedale Jones) for a total of 17 players.

And one day later, Richmond gets its second 2009 commit in Greg Robbins. Before getting sidelined with a broken forearm, it was said that “of the many schools with scholarship offers on the table, he is most interested in Syracuse, Virginia, Saint Joseph’s, Michigan, Villanova, Maryland, and Florida State.”

So it sounds like a potentially strong pickup for Richmond. The athletic 6’5" guard appears to be a Charles Dewhurst-type of player.

Parrom picked Xavier over St. John’s, Pittsburgh, Clemson, Marquette, and South Carolina.

Survivor, thanks! Jeff Goodman is reporting that St. Joe’s will get the commit of Carl Jones, considered the number one PG in the state of Ohio, when he makes his announcement later today. Picks the Hawks over Penn State, Providence, USC, and Xavier.
