Thanks for catching that. Not sure where my mind was on that one!

BTW, I may have gotten carried away on the UMass list. Bailey isn’t confirmed yet, though it looks fairly certain he will follow DK to Amherst.

This either increases the chance of Spears’ being eligible for the upcoming season …

… or it increases the chance of my blood pressure increasing whenever the NCAA is mentioned.

interesting…very interesting…

Jordan Crawford lands at Xavier. For now I’m putting him here, though XU is going to petition the NCAA to allow him to play in 08-09. Film at 11…

good for xavier. anybody know how crews’s visit went?

Here is an interesting article about UMass’ never-a-dull-moment scholarship situation. Last year, “UMess” had 13 players on scholarship, 3 enrolled players waiting for a scholarship (Lynch, Wilcher, and Wake Forest transfer Anthony Gurley), and a preferred walk-on (Sedale Jones) for a total of 17 players.

And one day later, Richmond gets its second 2009 commit in Greg Robbins. Before getting sidelined with a broken forearm, it was said that “of the many schools with scholarship offers on the table, he is most interested in Syracuse, Virginia, Saint Joseph’s, Michigan, Villanova, Maryland, and Florida State.”

So it sounds like a potentially strong pickup for Richmond. The athletic 6’5" guard appears to be a Charles Dewhurst-type of player.

glad to get his commit in the books- like to see a few more follow sooner rather than later- its easier to breathe if its taken care of, lol

The Bailey and Wiggins transfers to UMass (the former from Memphis; the latter from UConn) are now official:

Xavier picks up SF Kevin Parrom - a Top 100 recruit according to rivals, scout, & espn (collegehoops.net also lists him at #41 overall).

Parrom picked Xavier over St. John’s, Pittsburgh, Clemson, Marquette, and South Carolina.

And in a gesture to help Charlotte feel more at home in the conference, the prized recruit for the Cincinnati school had been arrested by Bronx police for punching his coach in the face during a team meeting.

Survivor, thanks! Jeff Goodman is reporting that St. Joe’s will get the commit of Carl Jones, considered the number one PG in the state of Ohio, when he makes his announcement later today. Picks the Hawks over Penn State, Providence, USC, and Xavier.

“While he says he does not have a current favorite, various recruiting outlets point to West Virginia as his likely destination.”

This probably deserves its own thread, actually. Can anyone guess which school landed Aaric Murray?

Ranked among the Top 40 prospects in the nation and is the #6 overall center according to rivals, scout, and espn. Was named to the All-Star team at the Reebok All-American Camp. Athletic, bouncy, and tall - Murray is considered to be a superb defender in the post. A good student, he also wanted to choose a school based on academics
