A Charlotte 49ers / Charlotte Knights Partnership

What if we could have a state of the art, 40,000 seat, retractable roof stadium to play football in?

The Knights are having some trouble getting this through. Maybe if we worked with them and offered to share operating costs, etc, it would be more likely to happen.

:hammer: Now you’ve added the off-campus vs. on-campus debate to the equation!!!

Any chance to add somehow the millions of football threads together and create a sticky? Or just create a sticky for ALL things Charlotte football?

ON CAMPUS!!! End of Debate IMO

I don’t know where you are getting your info from, but the Charlotte Knights are not having a hard time getting the new baseball park built.

Fixed.

hey, that’s the Memphis ballpark in that powerpoint presentation. A downtown ballpark would be classy.

Yea the stadium’s got to be on campus. Itd be nice but we really need it on campus.

If you look at a lot of schools similar Charlotte (UAB, UCF, USF, FAU, UTEP, and Memphis) that have Division 1-A football programs play in multi-purpose stadiums or stadiums that host more than their schools football games. If the retractable roof stadium is built uptown I don’t think it wouldn’t be a bad idea to play game there at least until the school could afford to build an on-campus 30,000 seat football stadium. Of course, the uptown stadium doesn’t exist right now and neither does Charlotte 49er football.
