Isn’t this is the last year of the current deal?
If so, are there any rumblings on what a new deal may look like?

One game per week on ESPN, all games on ESPN3.

To answer your question 2002, yes, this is the last year of the contract. I haven’t heard anything regarding a new deal. At least the A10 looks as though it will likely have another strong year. If we can get 4-5 teams into the tournament, that certainly would help us get a better deal. When the last deal was signed the league was in a bit of a slump.
Good topic, but still having to remind everyone that there is an A-10 Forum for these threads.
Anyway, also have to remember that last TV deal occurred under a different commish, though her recommendation on this was approved by the respective CEOs (presidents/chancellors) and ADs of the conference. In a way, probably got a worse deal that what the Mountain West has with Comcast, etc., through their mtn. network, which is a main reason BYU is leaving the MW.
Also reminds me that the A-10 could have been a real player with ESPN at the latter was getting started. Instead, another upstart conference at the time, the Big East, got on board and, as they say, the rest is history.
Versus is the best option, with the Mountain West losing Utah and BYU they might could get their ratings from the East Coast by airing Atlantic 10 games. An A10/MWC double-header every Tuesday-Wednesday-Thursday, Saturday and Sunday afternoons, as well as some home non-conference games. Versus should also look into airing early season tournaments if they aren’t already, they could become a real player in college basketball.
ESPN would still look to air the premier A10 games, in league and out of conference, but this would be win-win-win for Versus, The A10 and the fans.

I know many A10 fans have mentioned Versus as a favorable option, I hope Versus is considering the conference as well.
