ACC Scheduling

Get both types. Win both. Problem solved.

This is really simple. Just get an invite to join the ACC. There, problem solved.

Or get an invite to join another conference on the same level.

Until we started actually playing the games. We just got skull f&*&*d by FSU and I’ve seen some pubs predict they won’t even be a top 10 team in the ACC this year. Can you imagine this board if we got beat that bad damn near every conference game?

As long as we could keep our current coach, that would never happen… except for when he dismantled the team for our 1st year in the conference. After that, we would be awesome.

Awesome? Maybe, but we’d still complain.

Probably not as much as Wake fans complain about their coach. We’re pretty civilized compared to them. I’ll take our coach over theirs.

All i have read is bitching. I didn’t read anything that qualified why ELON, UNCG, UNCW, ECU, DAVIDSON, ASU, or UNCA is able to schedule these games and we are not? I believe this is an accurate reflection of our AD’s Inability to perform! Her inability to create relationships with the north or south carolina elites. This isn’t just a problem in basketball it extents to baseball and football as well. How has our first D1 major conference game be against Va Tech and not UNC, NCSU, USC or CU? Absolutely ridiculous IMO. SHE HAS TO GO

Judy Rose is incompetent and she must be relieved or her duties immediately! She can’t Schedule one Instate game with an ACC opponent. She must GO until she can prove worthy of her job

We played like 4 ACC teams in soccer this year.

As for basketball, the in-state ACC schools play the teams you referenced because they are patsy games for them. They are willing to go on the road and play them without demanding a return game. We’re not willing to stoop to that level. Those teams are not much of a threat to win games against in state competition. We’ve beaten Wake and crushed NC State in the past. We took Carolina to two OT games. They don’t want to play a school like ours. For them to play us, we’ll either need to do something that garners national respect (like a deep run in the tournament) or drop to the level of UNCA, UNCW, Elon, etc.

You’re a clown. I sincerely hope you do not have a Charlotte degree. If you were awarded a degree, I may introduce mine to flames.
The only thing I will say is we need to drop the home and home demand if it gets us on some decent schedules. Anyone, anywhere should be our motto. Win a few if those and we might be able to start getting some more respect.
So you have zero problem with us playing 3 home games before the conference schedule?

And once she is gone, but somehow proves worthy, she can come back?

Is it the English language, or cognizant thought that gives you the most difficulty?

Incidentally, she does not coach the games, make travel arrangements, or wipe sweat off the playing surface, so if anyone has complaints about the performance of
these duties, please contact the appropriate personnel.

To heck with ACC teams. But I would love to see 6-7 Stud mid majors like vcu, Butler, StL, etc and go into cusa play with a top 70 SOS like yrs past. It at least makes conf play meaningful. (Ya know…villa7 gotta be worth something to schedule one another) ::slight_smile:

The next 16 games are scrimmages because our SOS is so terrible. The CUSA tourney are the only meaningful games left. We can be undefeated 16-0 and it just gets irrelevant nit. USM and La Tech are great examples last yr.

USM and La Tech had too many conferences losses.

I mostly agree that conference games don’t really matter because it is very unlikely that we’d get an at large, but we probably would if we went 16-0 or maybe even 14-2 in regular season conference play. I think wins over UM and KSU may cause the committee to give us benefit of the doubt if we ended up doing very well in conference play and then losing in the tournament finals or semi’s.

I don’t think we do 14-2 well or better in conference play though, so it doesn’t really matter in my opinion.

I think we fall somewhere between 12-4 and 14-2. UTEP, LaTech, USM, UAB and EZU are the only games I think we will lose. We’ll probably win 2 of those and lose one other head scratcher that puts us at 12-4, top 3 in conference and in position to make a good run in the conference tournament.

12-4 puts us 21-8 and in a good place for the NIT, especially with a couple of wins in the conference tournament, which we should be able to do.

I haven’t seen anything from this team that says 14-2.

We have a lot of really awful teams in this conference. There is a team worse than A&T in our conference and another equally as bad.

We’re not losing to ECU. They have one basketball player and one athlete.
