Greg Adkins interviews at Conference rival Marshall. Will he really leave? Are things that bad here?
Greg Adkins interviews at Conference rival Marshall. Will he really leave? Are things that bad here?
he is working for a lame duck coach. He would be stupid not to be pursuing other opportunities.
Judy saved Brad. Judy got fired. He doesnāt have her protection anymore and any new AD has 0 connections to him, and God willing, a desire to win.
Honest to God, I thought Adkins had left already. He was the older guy Lambert brought in to help him with in-game decision making, isnāt he?
I canāt blame any assistants leaving. If you have opportunities elsewhere, why would you stay here (or come here) to work for a HC who will certainly be gone in 1 or 2 years?
I believe you are thinking about Coach Hood, who left for University of Kentucky I think.
He played at Marshall.
This is worse than letting Bobby reach the final year of his contract.
Coach Lambert is a really nice guy, but thereās a reason most coaches are not allowed to maintain their job after a one win season. Our AD invited things like this upon the football program. Iām glad Judy is gone, but the fact that our 2nd assistant (Henry too) is now openly looking for outside employment is about as shocking as water being wet.
I sincerely hope that Lambert serves us up a huge slice of crow, and nobody on planet earth will be happier to eat it than myself, but just like we said all through the Judy saga, we have to stop operating like Mayberry if we intend to compete.
As an AD, do you ever want to make the announcement āand our new hire is Coach , who has been with the Charlotte 49ers for the last few yearsā? Go hire somebody that ranked # 150 in FBS and fewer people will question your logic.

If Lambert wins 6 games this year, I will gladly eat two full helpings of crow. However, I do not see that happening.
Lambert needs to go no matter the result this year. Adkins should take a job elsewhere because he will be unemployed Dec 2018.
I agree, as a coach myself if I knew my coach was a lame duck coach Iād be looking around too. They have families to provide for and heās gotta do what is best for him. Itās before spring ball so not totally late in the game so Iām ok with the timing.
