Andrais Thornton - 2005 (juco)

This is a pretty interesting story as well. Thornton, according to JJ, is to visit in the next few weeks (along with another juco, Courntey Williams, and Roy Bright, who plans to transfer from Cincy).

Thornton did play at Colby (Kansas) CC and transferred when the head coach also went to Southwest Missouri State University-West Plains (SMSU-WP). As you know, Drayton played there as did Dedric Spooner.

From an article in July, 2004:
“Thornton is a 6-7, 195-pound forward from Steimetz High School in Chicago, Ill. He turned in a solid performance his freshman year for the Trojans, averaging 6.7 points and six rebounds per game as the starting power forward for a 24-7 team that was ranked as high as No. 2 in the NJCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Poll. " 'Dre was a very solid starter for us. He is capable of taking his game to the next level and becoming a go-to player,” Ostermann said. "Dre will be a solid leader.’ "

He avg. 13.3 pts. and about 9.5 rbs this year.

he better add some muscle if he wants to keep playing the 4

he has eliminated us and will most likely commit to southeast missouri state. withers and iti returning apparently had a lot to do with it

SEMSU was our competition? Do we really need this guy anyways? I want Mr. 24 Rebounds in one game.

EXACTLY what ive been thinking. i would rather have a 6'9 220lb pf who averaged 12 rpg than some 6'7 barely 200lb "power forward" who wants to go to a school I have never heard of

agreed…
