An'Juan Wilderness - 2006

On the new SAT scoring format I wouldn’t see a hundred points being that big of a difference. Not sure how many hundred points it went up but don’t they check for cell phones, cheat sheets, and photo ID?

Ultimately, if he has satisfied his core requirements in HS isn’t it up to the Admissions Office to determine whether he has what it takes for admission? Haven’t Qualifying scores been done away with?

This is what pisses me off with the NCAA. What is this red flag crap. Either you invalidate the score or accept it.

I believe NCAA qualification is based on a combination of test scores (ACT or SAT) and GPA. Core course requirements is a state specific issue. If anyone can find the current NCAA standards info, please post.

I am sure the Charlotte Observer will get to the bottom of this.

What is the latest?

I suspect we’re still in holdout mode.

How did I miss this statement?

is it safe to say he won’t be here this year?

What’s with these athletes not passing the requirements? The NCAA requirements are so low it’s almost silly.

edit: oh, I didn’t see that he passed and they flagged his score. doh!

This is just cautionary procedure. I can’t remember if College Board does this themsleves… for everyone… Maybe it is just NCAA, but it is standard rules… So it really doesn’t mean nothing, just that Anjuan got smarter and studied harder.

Yeah but the North Carolina requirements are tough which is another reason we go JUCO so much.

Recruiting at Charlotte is a tough gig.

What stinks about this is that his entry to college this year could be delayed because they “feel the need to investigate”. I know that if I studied and improved my score…I’d be highly pissed. The NCAA is a JOKE. Brought to you by the same folks who said “Hey, let’s go create some more bowl games!”

Seems to me a student could make a case against the NCAA for impacting their career in a negative way. They need to develop security they are comfortable with / then go for it… perhaps a thumb print on the answer sheet? This is crazy. I feel a good lawyer could make a student rich on this one. Watch what happen when a case like this hits the floor. Things will get straight fast. I wish it was sooner than later.

it stated that ACT scores nationwide were up 18% from a year ago. So tell me again why Wilderness going up 100 pts on the SAT is being investigated?

And can anyone relate what’s the latest? Is he going to enroll anyway? Is he going to enroll for 2007? If so, is Phil Jones coming in? Enquiring Minds want to know!!(and me too!)

When does school start?

monday

This is absolutely ridiculous. School starts TOMORROW and we still dont know his status??

yeah i would definitely have to agree with you on that one.
