The Miami Heat announced today that they have signed guard Vincent Grier. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Grier played two seasons at the University of Minnesota after transferring from Dixie State Junior College and UNC-Charlotte. While at Minnesota, Grier appeared in 57 games and averaged 16.9 points, 5.9 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 2.12 steals.

Sorry, can’t consider him a Niner in the NBA. If we were going to do crap like that, we’d also have to take credit for a Niner riding pine in some recreational league in New Mexico once Iti is done with schooling. Grier’s a Gopher in the NBA.

I still don’t understand why he didn’t do a normal transfer and play all 4 of his years at a D1 school.
That is odd that they signed him immediately like that, has he even played a summer league game for them yet?

I haven’t seen anything on this other than what’s posted but my guess is that he was signed for the summer league games (not a true free agent contract)after trying out in summer camp. Same situtation as Curt. I saw in the Observer today that Forte and Cam Bennerman were cut by the Heat prior to summer league games.

Haha go for it. It can be editted by whoever wants to. We could start our “Ninerizations” section for words that only niners use. “Ninerability - The quality of one being fully embraced by the Sovereign Nation of Niner.”
That actually isnt a bad idea. We want tradition. Having our own words we like to use would be cool. Kind of a thing for people who are “in” like a secret handshake.
