Being the ivy of Mecklenburg county, I would expect that Davidson fans would be smart enough to know not to cast generalizations on an entire fan base off a few anecdotal stories of drunk college kids.
Blah blah, yada yada.
Take the kitties side if you want. Fine by me. Last I heard, our fans stopped short of assaulting theirs.
Canât say that for their side of the county.
I once heard a Davidson fan during a soccer tournament at Transamerica, yell to the opposing coach, âYour motherâs a whore and your father holds the money!â They werenât playing us. Iâd say it was 2006 or so.
Went to soccer a few years ago at Davidson and one of their students sitting directly behind me was liquored up pretty much, cursing, and threatening to beat the ass of one of our students.
This sometimes happens everywhere including the sacred, holier than thou, campus of Davidson College.
One of their fans best summed up that entire thread in one sentence:
UNCC plays too physically and their fans cheer too loudly. Could we drop down to DIII and schedule a scrimmage with Davidson Day's middle school team?
And I donât believe that guys story about the kid getting jumped for a second, nor anyone dropping the c word. I was in the largest section of niner fans for the duration of the game and the walk back to Brickhouse. I saw nothing of the sort. Not remotely close.
During the Davidson game in Belk back in the 04/05 season, a couple Davidson students ran over to the Charlotte section, which was huge, and full of rowdy Charlotte fans, but also some families with young kids. They jumped up and grabbed the railing and yelled âHey Charlotte fans, SUCK OUR D***S!!â as loud as they could, then of course, ran off like cowards.
Stay classy Davidson.
I love kicking their sorry asses.
Davidson complaining about our disrespectful fans, yet they chant âmugshot mayfieldâ all game long?
Their players enjoyed it, their fans need to get a clue: https://twitter.com/tdroney23/status/276555340965871616
This is college basketball not 5 year old rec league soccer. That thread is PATHETIC and should be an embarrassment for all Davidson fans.
Fuck 'em.
What we really ought to do is start a rumor that Charlotte fans have an annual tradition of ritualistically cannabalising an older Davidson alumni. Put some real fear into those whaaacats fans. Should we actually go through with the act of ritualistic cannabalism? Iâm open for debate. We should probably use the term anthropophagy, so that Davidson fans can understand.
I was impressed with the Davidson fans. I didnât know senior citizens stayed out past dark in such large numbers.
Their fans there obviously arenât looking at things clearly. Do we get obnoxious? YES Have some of our fans crossed the line? YES Have their fans been obnoxious? YES Have some of theirs crossed the line? YES
In the end any passionate rivalry will get this kind of fan emotion going. If they want to stop playing fineâŚ
These humanzees from STDavidson Doucheblock calling us names? ;D We got our beatches (28-11) all bend out of shape days after the game. I take that as a compliment. Thank you for sharing such a fun joke, CIBIK02.

100% correct- all fanbases have some idiots- ourâs theirâs, everybodyâs.
I think most of the their fans enjoy the series (except for getting their asses beat) and look forward to the game. I had my 13 year old daughter with me and didnât hear anything over the line. After the game I shook hands with several DU fans that complimented us and commented what a good game it was.

Fixed. Donât give them anymore credit than they deserve. They are merely a stepping stone to graduate school.
lol. Thanks for posting that link.
My favorite:
This sounds like a waaah-fest and I hate the thought of their fans reading this topic on our board."UNCC plays too physically and their fans cheer too loudly. Could we drop down to DIII and schedule a scrimmage with Davidson Dayâs middle school team?

ok.
I thought most of the posts over there were somewhat reasonable, except for a few delusions. Rivalry should keep going, not sure why itâs up for debate every year over there.
If they were the â28â and not the â11â they wouldnât have any problems with the game.
If they canât see the benefit in having this game every year, well, I guess a Davidson degree isnât worth the price.
This game should be a bigger deal than it already is, could be a huge selling opportunity for both programs. Depending on how much success both teams can have, the game could become the âcanât missâ game in Charlotte every season.
The more intense the rivalry, the more people that tune in.
