App State @ Charlotte 12/11 5:00PM ESPNU

He said he thought we scored enough to win. Blamed the refs some.

All things LOSERS say.

So it is clear to me that this team is missing the ā€œitā€ player. The ā€œitā€ player is the guy who wants the ball in his hands and goes in and scores. The guy that shuts up another teams run by making a defensive steal or a makes a clutch 3. We don’t have a SR on the team that is the ā€œitā€ guy and if anything Shep is the ā€œAnti-itā€ guy. He air balls a 3, bricks a couple of others, doesn’t rotate to help on dribble drives and causes turnovers with careless passing and sloppy ball skills. All of this in the final minutes of the game. If they can get an ā€œitā€ guy to step up they will be much better.

Supica is a known commodity and Anzac is going to push him out of the starter role before the end of the season. Matos may be getting pushed out by Threadgill and Brice soon. I don’t know what kind of dirt Shep has on coach, but it must be good for him to see that many minutes in a game where he is clearly struggling.

A disappointing final 10 minutes once again. We clearly have a problem there and coach needs to figure it out.

I think that Young could certainly have IT, if we ran a normal offense that allowed some flexibility.

How stupid, if he said that. We went 8 minutes down the stretch without a fg. Our offense was total crap. I honestly almost would prefer Major at this point. Atleast we didn’t run these stupid and boring schemes then and I am confident he would have at least called a time out during that time and ran a play to get atleast one decent shot off.

Yeah but last season’s team played with energy and enthusiasm. I think we lost leaders.

Oh he definitely said it. Turned the radio off immediately after he said it. Didn’t care to listen o anything else he had to say.

I have no doubt…sounds like him.

Tale of two halves. You made every 3 in the 1st and couldn’t buy one in the 2nd. Two good defensive teams. Best of luck with the rest of this season. I’d be remiss if I didn’t express my empathy for your football season. COVID sucked the life outta yours and ours. Be safe so we can pick this back up n ZT time we meet.

It is pretty tough to win when two of your starting SRs shoot under 18% from the floor, 50% from the line, and account for over 40% of the team turnovers.

Brice picked up foul trouble early and often to keep him off the floor. Supica played good offensively, but he is so soft in the middle. I think Threadgill played more minutes than he should and CSC just needs some confidence. The blocked shots took it out of him, but he did have a couple of solid drives to the basket.

Unfortunately, collapsing down the stretch seems to be this team’s MO. Offense is horrible. Save Young and Threadgill, no one can shoot. Interior play is soft. This team has no heart. We lost to App and ECU. Pitiful. Alan Major, part 2.

CSC had a couple of solid drives? How is that possible when he had zero points? Are you giving credit for driving attempts? He looks soooooo slow out there. The only upside on him is he is a rs freshman.

He had the shots blocked, but he was aggressive going to the basket. He played 8 minutes so he didn’t get much run. I don’t think he looks slow on the court when I have seen him.

I disagree with your point about threadgill. He should play more of shepherds minutes.

Agree wholeheartedly

What I meant for him was the minutes that early were too many and I think it impacted his scoring ability. I could be mistaken, but young guys running 30+ minutes per game miss a lot of shots typically. I like him a lot, but he was worn down late in the 2nd half.

I disagree. App just decided to play man and keep him from getting the ball or a shot. No one else stepped up.

Missed most of the game. Wife would not let me bring the iPad to dinner. Ron needs Shep and Supica to play well to have a good season. So far, Shep has been terrible in pressure situations in the 3 games we lost. Supica also is not stepping up and being a Senior Leader. If this continues Sanchez should look to the future and play the younger guys more.

From what I did see of the game, Matos was also having a tough night. Thought he handled the first 2 games ok, but not tonight.

I’ve joined the Sanchez ain’t it wagon.

The three real teams we’ve played, we’ve seen the exact same script. Jump out to a lead, let the other team hang around, collapse down the stretch. There is no mental toughness or killer instinct on this team. We play with a lack of energy from start to finish.

Third year was really when I expected to see a jump in performance. Instead I’m seeing the same issues that have plagued us from year 1. While I’m encouraged by the younger talent we have, we don’t seem to fit the system to the strength of our players, but instead try to fit the players into the system.

This team was better last year, by far. Trending quickly in the wrong direction.
