I think we will benefit come A10 play from the experience of playing a couple athletic pressure type teams.
As for the game, our guards did a good job in the first half versus the press, but not so great in the second half. Ideally you want to be able to attack the press and get easy baskets, but have not shown the ability to finish at the rim. I think not having Luka hurt us, because Henry is the only guy that can finish at the rim consistently. Not having a back up for him, we had to have others break the press and get him the ball over half court to run the offense.
The second half we looked to attack more, but we didnât seem comfortable inbounding the ball after the half, I think Arkansas got a bit more aggressive on the inbound passes.
KJ was a better fit to see minutes against Arkansas, Brasâ lack of explosiveness makes it difficult for him to play well against really athletic bigs.
No reason to compare NCCUâs game @ Arkansas almost 3 years ago. Arkansas was a below .500 team with a different coach.
Year 2 there will be a lot of learning experiences. We need to not let our heads hang low and get down on ourselves.
We sucked. Our TOs didnât start piling up until the second half. At one point late in first or early second they had more TOs than us. We just could not hit anything (FTsâŠ). Oh well, lets just move onto the next one. The whole team sucked. Could not finish, could not hit free throws, couldnât do anything really.
SokoolâA lose is a lose no matter if you score 40 or 1. You say lets not have it a Briscoe vs. whoever threadâŠthen donât make your first post about Briscoe and MAJOR SIZE KING blah blah blah. It is not Majors fault Briscoe took 3 shotsâŠit is his.
It is MAJOR SIZE KINGâS fault that this team is not progressing.
Losing is bad enough but when we are playing worst now than we were 10 games ago thats a Major problem.
This team and Majors, personnel management/system have thus far rendered a product that is worse than we were at this point last year.

First offâŠwe might be playing worse not worst. We have lost four games this year. One by a game winning three and one without our best player (At least our best player then). How is the system worse than last year? 7-4 this year and 5-6 last year. Your delusional. At this point last year we needed a game winning three to beat a 3-8 Mercer teamâŠand no it was not your boy Briscoe he had six points and 5 TO that game. Lighting it up!! You are just like StillBlowing. Use stats and criticize when it is appropriate and continue to use it when it is not appropriate.
Donât try and fool anyone here. You arenât a Niner fan, youâre a Briscoe fan which is fine. You joined this board as soon as he knew he was transferring here and more than likely leave once his time is done.

Im sure youâll question any niner fan that does not agree with what or who is popular. : Thats real shallow dude.
What makes you a great Niner fan? The amount of friends you have iâm sure.
Surly iâll be banned soon that seems to be the approach to opposition here. Until then iâll keep speaking my opinion whether you like it or not.

Your grasping for straws dude.
2-0 BCS last year vs 0-2 BCS this year thats no comparison.
If we win Saturday then you will have something other than smoke to blow.
You mention Mercer last year well it took us 2ot to be Central Michigan this year ⊠and thats my point âŠwhats the difference?
As I said 7-5 OOC is no better than 8-6 last year.
This is a completely worthless statement, yet you continue to make it. They dont keep a seperate column in the win/loss record for games against the BCS teams. Not only that, but its not even accurate, as we lost to Oregon St last year too.
For all of your âwinning record against the BCSâ talk, why is it that you never mention our record last year against non bcs teams?
8-19 last year vs 7-2 this year. Thats no comparison. Right?

NNN wants clones not TRUE NINER FANS. :))
I question any Niners fan with an meaningless/negative agenda, which you most certainly have. On top of it, you try and justify your agenda with irrelevant stats.
I know one person from this board, so I could careless about the chuminess that goes on with some people here.
Fact is a troll is a troll is a troll. Maybe someone should introduce you to Metro. You would be 2 little peas in a pod. Flame on.
The difference is the second game of the year vs the 10th or 11th game of the year. How am I grasping for anything? Everything I used was facts. We have no chance of winning Saturday because Deuce is only going to play 20 minutes and not start and play the whole 40 minutes DUHHHHH.

Tournament committee looks at Win Loss records against BCS opponents all the time ???
2-1 (Oregon State) with a win on the road MUCH better than 0-2 or 0-3.
A-10 still to be played, I would wait until its over before I would make judgment on what this teams non bcs record might be.
They look at quality wins, not just BCS. Oregon St, TN and GT all sucked last year when tourney time came around and would not have wowed the committee.

Why would you do that? It didnt stop you from making the same type of judgement not 5-10 words earlier.
Also, the selection committee views quality wins, not wins vs bcs teams. If the BCS team sucks, it doesnt matter. The BCS teams we beat last year sucked. Iâm convinced you dont watch much college basketball.
Itâs getting very difficult to watch/follow this team (coming from a buffalo bills fan). I hope we can compete in the A10 this year and not get embarassed.
Two thoughts. We need to keep in mind that the A-10 coaches picked us 11th in the conference pre-season, and have now moved us up to 10th. They were not expecting us to go from the suckiest Niner team in 25 years to a conference leader in one recruiting class and we probably shouldnât either. We are at the beginning of our journey.
It is likely that Briscoe is starting every day in practice and plays heads-up against Henry. I would assume that the outcome of that determines who gets the minutes, not some bias against short guys. Sokool, if it makes you feel better to say that the coaching staff would chose to lose over letting Briscoe get more minutes, then keep on tilting Don Quixote. Clearly Briscoe is no Shamari Spears and Major would not have cover with his bosses to lose games based on that kind of a decision. With his salary it would be a very expensive decision to chose losses and eventual termination by keeping the answer to all our problems on the bench. You need to step away from your selected stats and say hello to logic.
You guys can argue as you wish, but it seems there are inflated expectations for this team. The OOC schedule to begin the year was not very strong. Donât want to put down the teams we played, but we used to make fun of Memphis for putting together such schedulesâŠand the fans would argue look at all the winsâŠ
âŠbut what is more is we had difficulties with some of those teams (even though a winning record).
Now that we are playing some more athletic teams, seems like our young team would struggle. As pointed out, we were picked 11th in A10. Would argue the two teams we played would finish around 5th or 6th in the league.
Still a recruiting class and a year of experience away from competing.
