size=1em 2k: RT @Justinbyerly : Coach Major from Charlotte was in yesterday to see Raleigh (NC) Cardinal Gibbons 2015 Austin Burnette. Has an offer, from last summer.
Very little on him. Last year listed as playing for Neuse Christian Academy and was listed at 6’4" (he was an 8th grader at that time).
Edit: Averaged 4.7 ppg last year as a Fr. for Cardinal Gibbons.

Again according to Justin Byerly: Will play AAU ball this summer on the G Road 9th grade squad with Julius Barnes and Mike Lee.
Meaning we offered?
Still seems like offering a schollie to an 8th grader is premature, whoever offered it.

But not unprecedented (it’s a football example, but the fact still remains)

Bust, it happens just enough so it’s not rare. Still strange to see schools offer middle school kids.
We also offered beasley in the 8th grade as well if I remember correctly. He may have been a freshman.
Will be attending Charlotte’s Elite Camp this weekend.
Dayton now expressing interest.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see Burnette blow up similar to Isaac Copeland. I don’t think he’ll be a 5 star, but could see him becoming a top 150 type kid.
He will de-commit within a year.
