From Andy Katz and The Weekly Watch at ESPN.com:
EDDIE BASDEN, Charlotte: Basden made a strong case for Conference USA player of the year with his 24 points, seven boards and three steals in a win over Memphis. Basden followed that up with 17 points, eight boards and six blocks in a home win over Southern Miss. Charlotte has won nine of their last 10 games and Basden has been one of the main reasons for its consistency.(BTW, Katz selected Bracey Wright of Indiana as the POW.)
And “Watch to Watch” this week:
Charlotte at Louisville, Thursday, 9 ET (ESPN2) The Conference USA title is on the line between two teams that will be leaving the league next season for the Atlantic 10 and Big East, respectively. Few teams are hotter than Charlotte. Eddie Basden and Francisco Garcia could each make a case for C-USA player of the year honors. This should be one of the best games of the week, including some of the games over the weekend. NCAA Tournament seeding ramifications also exist.
