Nice one, s9er. I fell for it too.
Word. I sent em a friendly e-mail. I'll keep everyone updated if I get a response. Meanwhile, everyone should do the same.Their e-mail address is: boyd.nation@mindspring.com

Hello,
I noticed a small error on your website. You list Charlotteās name as āNorth Carolina-Charlotteā. The official name of the athletics program was formally changed to simply āCharlotteā several years ago.
I enjoy keeping up with your website. Job well done.
His responseā¦
I have two rules that I apply in these cases, and the second one takes
precedence. First, I call every school what they want to be called, but,
second and more important, the athletic department doesnāt get to decide
what the school is called. The front page at www.uncc.edu still says
UNC Charlotte.
^find the press release and mail that to him
Heh. I got an e-mail response. If you don't want to get angry, don't continue reading...Canāt get too mad at him. It is our name, and itās even all over Halton. Itās on the backboards, itās on the seats that the players sit in, etc.My original e-mailā¦

Where does it say North Carolina-Charlotte?
No Hyphen as far as the eye can see. The Full name is The University of North Carolina at Charlotte, or otherwise known as UNC Charlotte. Hell Iād take UNCC⦠But he isnāt following his own rule, we arenāt āNorth Carolina - Charlotteā.
If those are his ārulesā, he should be referring to North Carolina as āNorth Carolina-Chapel Hillā. His rules.
Anyways, hereās my response:
Thank you for your e-mail, but I still take issue with your point, because it runs contrary to the rest of the nation.
Our program is referred to as āCharlotteā by every major media outlet in the country, on the national, regional and local levels. For the recent Charlotte-USC game, for example, hereās how we were referred to on various levelsā¦

Also, every single national poll and college baseball news source refers to us as āCharlotteāā¦for exampleā¦

As I first pointed out, I enjoy your website, and will continue enjoying it into the future, but you seem to going contrary to most every single college baseball media outlet in the United States. Further, your rules would require you to refer to āNorth Carolinaā in a similar fashion as āNorth Carolina-Chapel Hillā. Feel free to visit unc.edu to double check. If those are your rules, thatās fine, letās just be consistent.
Thank you for your time.

Where does it say North Carolina-Charlotte?He said he would change it to UNC Charlotte, I thought. NC-Charlotte and UNC-Charlotte are stupid, though. There is no hyphen, afaik. No Hyphen as far as the eye can see. The Full name is The University of North Carolina at Charlotte, or otherwise known as UNC Charlotte. Edit: gotLutz has a point with the UNC Chapel Hill thing.

I have never seen anyhitng with āNorth Carolina- Charlotteā in Halton or anywhere on campusā¦
By the way, here is the press release when we announced we would go by Charlotte for Athletics.

I agree, Iām sure saying itās probably confusing for people that donāt really care about Charlotte other than casually reporting on them, especially when the administration is not even consistent between Charlotte and UNC Charlotte.

Heās an idiot, it doesnāt say āNorth Carolina - Charlotteā anywhere on uncc.edu either.
solid effort eason⦠Educating the ignorant one email at a time
He's an idiot, it doesn't say 'North Carolina - Charlotte' anywhere on uncc.edu either. No, in his response he says he would change it to UNC Charlotte instead of Charlotte because it says UNC Charlotte on the web site, I think. Maybe I misread his response.
Anywho, keep up the good work, gotLutz and s9. :49ers:
I'm sorry, it doesn't look like anyone's picked up on the main issue here. How do you argue computer-based rankings? That's like challenging the principles of mathematics. How ambitious! Doesn't change anything though. Please tell me we play them. I'll take an RPI hit playing a terrible opponent just to wipe them off the diamond.
I second that

Wow. What a douche. We need to do some research, find his middle name, send him a flood of emails calling him by his middle name, then see if he still thinks weāre tilting at windmills.
After leading Wake 10-1, we blow it, loosing 15-12.
Damn.
Talk about ****ting the bed, that is just pitiful.
