After a busy year of listening to college coaches market their schools, Tyler chose Charlotte over UNC Chapel Hill, North Carolina State, Winthrop and Appalachian State.

“I really liked the school and they will give me a chance to come in and start right away,” said Tyler. “Head Coach Loren Hibbs felt I would be able to play first base when I wasn’t pitching and that’s what I was looking for. The stadium is real nice, they have become a top-25 team and I believe they will only get better.”
