Basketball Rd of 32 or Baseball Championship

I would pick winning a basketball NCAA tourney game

Really not even an argument if you ask me. A national championship in baseball is the answer everyday of the week. Name me the 16 teams off the top of your head that lost this years basketball tournament.

I’d love to remember the feel of disgust we didn’t make the sweet 16, but winning a National championship is lights years more impressive.

It has been 15 years since winning a 1st rd basketball tourney game and we have only been to the 2nd round 4 times since our final four 40’years ago. Unfortunately for us, making the 2nd round IS a huge deal for basketball lovers. And it would help recruiting. Recruits knowing it’s been over 10 years since we have been hurts us.

Doesn’t help I’m not a huge baseball fan.

Hard to beat a NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP!! :o

I’d actually probably take a C-USA Championship in baseball over 1 win in the NCAA basketball tournament.

Let me use T shirt logic… If the mens soccer or baseball teams won an NC, I’d buy a tshirt hot off the presses, even though there is a high probability I wouldn’t have gone to a solitary game. Can’t say I’d do the same for getting bounced on Saturday of the NCAAs, even though I’d follow the hoops team with much more intensity.

The school pride factor for being the best in the country is tough to beat.

Hell’s bells, people. Let’s do both.

I’ll do everything in my power to be at our next MBB NCAA Tournament game.

I’ll be watching our College World Series appearance on TV.

Baseball championship, need at least one for the school under our belt. Had we won the Soccer NC, I would be picking the Round of 32.

Baseball championship all day long and I love basketball. National Championships are RARE in any sport. It would take at least a Sweet Sixteen in basketball to surpass a National Title in baseball.

clt votes championship. You play to win the game.

I’d take the baseball championship even though I have no clue who won last year without googling.

I am more passionate about basketball, but making the second round is something I think we can (should?) accomplish every 3-4 years. A baseball national championship is a generational event. I’d easily choose baseball. I was listening to a CCU baseball game on the radio at work and was into it, I can only imagine (unfortunately) how nuts I would have been if that had been us.

obviously i love basketball way more but just getting to the second round of the tournament, propels our program back into relevancy. that means that we are a viable option to more “elite” players. this leads to sweet sixteens and so forth. it is not just about that season, but also about what it means to the program as a whole moving forward.

This is an absurd question. I love basketball as much as the rest of you guys, football too. But I’d take a national championship in almost any sport (or women’s sport) over a single NCAA MBB tournament victory. As others have said, MBB tourney appearances and wins need to be the standard for our program and that is not a goal out of reach. National Championships are rare, and they are forever in the history books. A single NCAA tournament victory is afforded to at least 32 schools every March. National Championships and deep tourney runs set you apart from the masses and are the measuring stick for any program that aspires to be relevant year in and year out.

A baseball NC would be incredible. You guys remember that time when we should have won the soccer NC and sent thousands of students and alums to Birmingham for the game? That sort of support makes fans for life and although I hope we would send thousands to an NCAA basketball game, that needs to be the norm, not the exception.

The CWS gets serious coverage too, so the exposure would be fantastic.

Coastal winning the CWS made the first page of reddit today too. We’ve never made the first page of reddit.

I can’t wait for the day when this happens and our name gets butchered 38 ways to the weekend with half the populace congratulating UNC on continued baseball dominance!!!

Championship- not even a question. Hell, I’m still bitter about losing to UNCCh in the Soccer finals a few years back and I really don’t even like soccer.

clt says we made Reddit history with the announcement of the guy who paid his parking fines in coins.

So for those that chose a baseball championship, would a basketball sweet sixteen appearance/loss change your choice?
