They put the sod in this week. Looks nice. Noticed the seats are…green! ;D
Guess they ordered those before the logo/color scheme change! ::slight_smile:

clt says we cannot host the cusa tourney, due to confusion between the knights and central Florida.,

It is a beautiful stadium with an awesome view. I know Charlotte is decades away from being big enough to support a major league team, but I hope to see it in my life time.

Don’t they know that Swofford will want to hold the ACC tournament at Yankee Stadium?

Are we playing any game there this year? If so, I’ll be there.

I know that there have been conversations about us playing there. I’m not sure that it’s going to work out this season though.

The knights are going to do well in Charlotte if they can keep the prices down.

I was able to tour the stadium a few weeks ago and it is a top notch facility. Great views from all of the seating areas both of the field and skyline. Can’t wait to see a game there.

Im glad the stadium is there now, perfect loc. But its a low end AAA facility. Very cheaply built. When you enter from Graham St it looks like a jail or school.

Durham has the real deal.

I haven’t done anything but drive by so I can’t speak on quality, but just the fact that it ended up finally getting built seems like a miracle.

That’s because Durham doesn’t have much else to spend their money on

lolkay.

lolkay.
Durham is a fine city that I like very much, but they don’t have nearly the same level of infrastructure that we have in Charlotte. Charlotte has professional sporting teams they have spent/are spending money on and billions tied up into light rail and street car.

Public investment in Durham is not even close to the same scale.

You can tell they went cheap on some of the materials, but they went all out on that video board.

One thing to remember too is that the project isn’t finished. There is still a hotel and an office building to be constructed on the narrow plot of ground behind the outfield fences. It will be a few years before those are build though. Both buildings should be 8-10 floors.

Sure. But that’s a completely different statement from the one he made.

You can tell they spent less effort and money on the exterior of the new ballpark, but I really like how they kept it very open, especially in the OF with the skyline.

You can also walk around the entire ballpark and still see the game.

Nothing official yet, but rumor has it that we will play at least once a year at the new park starting in 2015 against NC State.
