Beasley aint going nowwhere
He didnt have to hire anyone (that we know of) to do it, but he basicly stole Kareem Johnson from Lutz in the 11th hour.
Ya know what, I’m fine with that. If you can convince a kid your situation is better at the 11th hour you win (it still sucks). But this situation is a whole different animal.
he basicly stole Kareem Johnson from Lutz in the 11th hour.
Would it be disrespectful (on my part) to hope that Beasley turns out to have a Kareem Johnson-like impact on KSU?

Yes, since he hasn’t signed with them. I don’t think it’s good to turn on kids.

Seriously…this is what many people on here were referring to when we said Beasley would never play here. There were many scenarios that could have played out. Bobby leaving and taking Dalonte with him, Beasley simply backing out for a bigger named school, Beasley opting to play a year outside of Div 1 for a season, etc

Why is everyone so shocked?

I know it hurts more that they (Dalonte/Beasley) are following our version of the anti-christ (Huggy)…but this situation was coming. Whether it was with K-State or some other school. Beasley was NEVER going to play here.

Think about it. The Dalonte/Beasley package is too attractive. Any number of big name schools with deep pockets were jockying for this play…it just so happens Huggins beat them to the punch (and had a Demarr Johnson contact as a trump card).

Huggins is piece of scum…always has been…always will be…but if he hadn’t done it, I can assure someone else would have.

We can’t compete with the deep pockets of other schools that want a recruit bad enough to put their ā€œcontactā€ on the payroll.

We were NEVER gonna see Beasley in Niner green. Period. I say accept it and move on. Schools win all the time without a one and done NBA pass thru. We will be OK. I’d rather recruit solid 4yr players anyway. To hell with the one-and-doners…who needs 'em.

George Mason didn’t.

And since we’re on the subject of Truth…

QUE MY SONG!!!

I’ve gotta say, this would have been very disappointing news before the season, but now, we have a lot of quality recruits and Hill is responsible for one, Tatum.

We are in good shape. Even though, the fame and glory of a top 5 recruit is gone, we’ll get there someday.

Moderators please delete this thread…

Yes, it seemed all along this could happen. What sheer coincidence that it was our coaches’ buddy that did it!

Show me one post where someone said, prior to the last two days, that Dalonte Hill would be hired away and take Beasley with him.

Do it.

There’s an awful lot of unsupported self-congratulating going on in this thread.

Don’t be so snippy, man.

Listen, the only post I remember making about it was that if Bobby left, he would be SURE to take Dalonte with him because it would bring Beasley with him too. In retrospect, my point is that it is obvious that Bobby wouldn’t be the only coach that smart. Dalonte is a cheap assistant with a HUGE fish to bring to the picnic…it’s NO surprise to me that Huggs (or any other coach) was smart enough to see it…go after it…and make it happen.

There were a number of circumstances that could have led to Beasly not playing here. That’s why I never felt the verbal would stick. Did I see this EXACT scenario playing out…no, of course not. But I strongly believed that our small school stature and budget were not big enough to hold on to this recruit.

It sucks…but I truely never thought he would play here. It’s like trying to get The Rolling Stones to play at your Prom because you have some sort of connection/contact. Nice idea…bet NEVER gonna happen!

It sucks…but it’s OUR reality. We need to focus on good, solid 4yr players and we will be OK. We don’t need the Beasley’s…Geroge Mason didn’t.

Basicly, K-Town, your point is that hindsight is 20/20. Thanks. I couldn’t figure that out on my own.

obviously beasley is gone, unless he’s going to make a stand about money/shoe companies corrupting amature basketball…yeah right.

so what are odds we can hire Beasley’s dad/aunt/uncle to a nice salary and nice car?

Or are we in a Check Mate situation here?

Maybe there is another DC Assault assistant looking for an assistant coaching position?

No.

First, take some Midol, take a few deep breaths and calm down.

Second, here is a life lesson for you and any other Green Tinted fairy: Big fish don’t swim in small ponds. That is what I understand…and you apparently don’t. I’m not upset that this happened. Why? Because I understand that bigger conferences have bigger programs, which have bigger budgets and more money. It happens but it’s OK.

Instead of being pissed about losing something you were never gonna get. Look at the bright side. We have a great incoming class of 4yr players. THAT’S WHAT WE REALLY NEED.

Again, George Mason and the rest of the MVC had success without Top 10 talent…so can we.

You don’t have to be hi-line to be successful…
For every Tiffany’s, there’s a Village Jewelery Outlet
For every Sak’s Fifth Avenue, there’s a Wal-Mart
For every Ruth Chris’ Steak House, there’s a McDonalds.

Would McDonalds ever carry or sell filet mignon? No. Would Wal-Mart ever carry or sell $3500 Prada handbags? No. Charlotte was never gonna have Beasley on the menu.

But here’s the catch…

I guarantee that the Wal-Mart empire makes more money than Sak’s and they don’t need Prada to get there…just like we don’t need Beasley.

Quit gloating ktown.

We know how much you love bad news for the program.

We aren’t some small pond program, and we haven’t been that way for decades. We’ve been a damn good team for a while, and always a piece short of going to the Sweet 16. Put a sock in it over this small-time s***. Good for George Mason, but we’re not that type of program.

And last I checked Beasley hasn’t committed to anyone yet.

Why don’t you go on the Kansas State board and bring your negative s*** with you?

He isn’t gloating. Well, he is, he is just too stupid to realize how dumb he looks gloating over something he didn’t predict.

Him and about 3 or 4 other posters who try to use this board to inflate their egos.

If you need this board for self-affirmation, I pity you. Get help, soon.

This is just my two cents worth, but if I’m Beasley, I would be pissed at the way my so called friend is parading me around like I’m his golden egg of opportunity. Hill’s actions obviously show that he doesn’t have the kid’s best interests at heart and that he is purely motivated by greed and his own self-rewards. The whole thing makes me want to puke. What a LOSER!

..Look at the bright side. We have a great incoming class of 4yr players. THAT'S WHAT WE REALLY NEED...

Agreed, good point.
