Glad he was wise enough to get himself help for whatever it is he needs help dealing with. All past issues aside, depression (and drugs/alcohol if that’s an issue) is serious stuff- hope he recovers well.

Few go to rehab for weed. However, anything can be addictive. Are shopping, alcohol, gambling, etc addivtive substances? With money comes the ability to buy a lot of things and a lot of those things are self-destructive. Those little baggies didn’t look like weed to me.
I would be happy for him if I thought he was making this decision because he thought what he did was wrong- but it seems like if he wasn’t caught or told he needed to he would just keep on going
