Bernard Sullivan

Really starting to worry that Sullivan will have to hang it up. Price said he has no idea when he will be back, and with his history of concussions heS really risking his future. There’s more important things in life than basketball. Hopefully he can play again, but I hope he doesn’t risk his future and his health to try to come back

I wouldnt let him come back if I was the staff. He needs to let the dream go and move on.

Long life after college basketball, I’d hate to see that ruined by trying for a few more months of action.

Wondering how he feels now.

The student newspaper or someone should ask about his feelings.

I assume you are referring to a local media outlet when you say “or someone”?

I hope he’s good enough to where we could let him start on senior night and get a few plays in. But yeah… probably done.

He’s from Gastonia. Maybe Richard Walker will ask him and write a story for the Gaston Gazette. He comes to many of our games.

From David Scott on 1/5: Charlotte, Davidson basketball teams cautious in dealing with concussion issues

Talks about history and being hit in the head during the 12/19 App St game…

That would be great. Walker has always been a “fan”.

Sullivan ending basketball career.

Probably the best decision for his long term health. I wish him nothing but the best.

Thank you for playing for us Bernard. I’m sure it was a tough decision after all the work you put in. Get that degree and I hope this is the last you have to deal with concussions.

I’ll echo the thanks for his contributions to the team and program.

I appreciate Bernard sticking around and helping with the transition when so many others bailed. He is a part of what we are building here!!

Hate it came to this, but am happy he came to this decision. Good luck Bernard!

I wish him the best. I hate to see him end his career like this, but it’s the best move for him over the long haul.

Class act, wish him good health going forward.

Really sad because he had so much potential, and he obviously loves playing basketball. But this is the right decision. You only get one brain, and it turns out, the brain is pretty essential to living. Maybe he can movie into coaching.

This is really sad, but Sullivan seems like a pretty solid guy. I’m sure he will have good things lined up for him down the road.
