For my money, she has the best voice of any woman that has ever walked the planet Earth.

was actually let down with that cd. each one of his cd’s since get rich or die tryin’ have slowly declined in quality in my opinion.

Wilco - Sky Blue Sky

Bright Eyes - Cassadaga should probably make the list, but I’m not a Conor Oberst fan. Can’t believe him and M. Ward are forming a band. St Vincent’s Marry Me also misses the list cause I can’t stand the 80’s style production, even if Annie Clarke is adorable. Other notables left off: White Stripes - Icky Thump; Rilo Kiley - Under the Blacklight; Battles - Mirrored /I; Sunset Rubdown - Random Spirit Lover (havent heard enough of it to rate); M.I.A. - Kala; Panda Bear - Person Pitch; Dr Dog - We All Belong; Of Montreal - Hissing Fauna, Are You the Destroyer?; Beirut - The Flying Club Cup.

Early '08 releases:

Bon Iver - For Emma, Forever Ago
Phospherent - (?? I froget what the record is gonna be called)
British Sea Power - Do You Like Rock n Roll Music?
(people are gushing about this one - supossedly an ass kicker)
but seriously…

I thought you were still joking. Ugh.

My 2007 A List:
Modest Mouse – We Were Dead before the Ship Even Sank
Radio Moscow – Radio Moscow
Eddie Vedder – Into The Wild
Mark Knopfler – Kill to Get Crimson
Iron Horse – Something you’ve Never Heard Before: A Bluegrass Tribute to Modest Mouse
Plant & Krauss – Raising Sand

Black Rebel Motorcycle Club – Baby 81
Foo Fighters - Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace
Across the Universe Soundtrack (Beatles Covers – Various Artists)

Joe Bonamassa – Sloe Gin
Kid Rock – Rock N Roll Jesus
Norah Jones – Not Too Late
White Stripes – Icky Thump
Tishamingo – The Point
Robben Ford - Truth
Avett Brothers - Emotionalism

Disappointments:
Gov’t Mule – Mighty High (Reggae… really?)
Matchbox 20 – Exile on Mainstream (6 new songs + Greatest Hits… wtf?)
Marc Broussard – Save our Soul
Chris Cornell - Carry On
Nightwatchman (Tom Morello) - One Man Revolution

Stuff I’ve been meaning to give a good listen:
Emerson Hart – Cigarettes & Gasoline
Iron & Wine – The Shepards Dog
Kings of Leon – Because of the Times
The Shins – Wincing the Night Away
Silverchair – Young Modern
Wilco – Sky Blue Sky
Velvet Revolver – Libertad
Spoon – Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga
Arcade Fire - Neon Bible
Coheed and Cambria - No world for Tomorrow
Augustana - All the Stars and Boulevards
Radiohead - In Rainbows
Feist - The Reminder

was actually let down with that cd. each one of his cd's since get rich or die tryin' have slowly declined in quality in my opinion.

yeah i agree, but i still think he had a couple of decent songs on there…but your right, nothing like his old cd’s where pretty much every track was good

Mine, in alphabetical order:

Arctic Monkeys - Favourite Worst Nightmare
Band of Horses - Cease to Begin
Dinosaur Jr - Beyond

Kings of Leon - Because of the Times

Spoon - GaGaGaGaGa
Wilco - Sky Blue Sky

Like all of these as well. Was a little dissapointed with the Modest Mouse and Radiohead CD.

Should have had the White Stripes and Bright Eyes record on their also. Had no idea that Conor Oberst and M. Ward were forming a band! Should be interesting. M. Ward and Mason Jennings are 2 of my all time favs.

Sunny Ledfurd - “Tradition like no other” - Pontoon Boat Rules!
My 2007 A List:
Iron Horse – Something you’ve Never Heard Before: A Bluegrass Tribute to Modest Mouse
Now that is just weird enough to get my attention. It’s that good, huh?
Plant & Krauss – Raising Sand
I saw the live performance. Plant is a parody of himself. Dislike it because of him, not her. I still love Alison Krauss, especially when she sings more folk and less country.
Black Rebel Motorcycle Club – Baby 81
Foo Fighters - Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace
Across the Universe Soundtrack (Beatles Covers – Various Artists)
I wanted to like BRMC so bad, but the whole disk was boring except for one track. They put out an incredible single on their first album and everything afterwards has been subpar.

The Foo Fighters record is solid. I probably should have listed it.

Ditto that AtU soundtrack.
Norah Jones – Not Too Late
Ah, there’s one I forgot. She’s up there with Alison Krauss as far as having simply an amazing voice.

I wouldn’t know, the only thing I listened to that was new this year is Banner Pilot. I did listen to a lot of Afghan Whigs and Seaweed though.

My faves

Panda Bear - Person Pitch
of Montreal - Hissing Fauna, Are You The Destroyer?
LCD Soundsystem - Sound of Silver
The Avett Brothers - Emotionalism
M.I.A. - Kala
Feist - The Reminder
Spoon - Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga
Pharoahe Monch - Desire
The White Stripes - Icky Thump
Deerhoof - Friend Opportunity
Björk - Volta
El-P - I’ll Sleep When You’re Dead
Amy Winehouse - Back To Black
Interpol - Our Love to Admire
Arcade Fire - Neon Bible
Clap Your Hands Say Yeah - Some Loud Thunder
The Shins - Wincing the Night Away
Rilo Kiley - Under The Blacklight
PJ Harvey - White Chalk
Animal Collective - Strawberry Jam
Fujiya & Miyagi - Transparent Things
Justice - Cross
Kanye West - Graduation
Radiohead - In Rainbows
Battles - Mirrored
!!! - Myth Takes
St. Vincent - Marry Me
Jay-Z - American Gangster
Ghostface - The Big Doe Rehab
Band of Horses - Cease to Begin
Burial - Untrue

That CYHSY record is… weird. I do like a couple songs on it though. The only Fujiya Miyagi song I know is Ankle Injuries. Justice - D.A.N.C.E. is on probation for being so annoyingly stuck in my head.

Darnit, I meant to post about one you said that I left off. Now I forget. Drat.

Speaking of annoying, have you heard Los Campesinos? Specifically - You!Me!Dancing!

If not, I warn you - the guy’s voice is grating and he can’t sing, but the tune is disgustingly catchy.
