Biff Poggi Fired

Sydney Thomas

Thank you, that helps, now I hate him just like everyone else.
How dare he blow off a media day to attend a family funeral. How arrogant can one be by calling out people who hide behind social media names and type things they would never say to ones face, who does that? everyone. Don’t even get me going on the whole color scheme catastrophe. This has really helped, how could I have been so blind?
Seems real petty.

This board is like a bunch of old ladies sitting on a porch gossiping, telling lies and making chit up. The only thing of substance and enlightening that has come from this thread is, for some reason, several here have an uncanny recall of the day to day happenings of Mayberry.

@Chidave49 already posted the WCNC link, but here is the official video.

Hope we don’t hire Brewster as head coach

This used to piss me off to no end. You’re the head football coach at our school and you’re wearing another school’s logo on your shorts. Never seen that before and complete disrespect (or just downright incompetence).

Y’all think Mike Minter is availible? I know we’ve floated his name in the past.

Didn’t expect him to be fired for another year. Maybe this time they hire someone with actual head coaching experience in college

Didn’t work that great at Campbell.

if that option is on the table it would be huge

I’m not that worried about losing NIL with losing Poggi. Whatever he was providing/assisting in regard to NIL didn’t affect the W’s and L’s in a positive way.

You liked him, great. Keep following him I guess.

He still didn’t have to act that way, and oh by the way, he really struggled to win football games.

The challenge is any half decent coach with aspirations to win is going to ask about NIL resources in an interview. We better have a game plan on how to keep what we had under biff and grow it.

Biff is a personality and speaks his mind. It’s hard to imagine someone not being able to see that. The problem is it’s enduring when things are going well, it can be perceived as being a “jerk” when things are not going well. When he was hired, I would say his moxie was exactly what we needed. I loved when he called out the App St assistant coach on social media. I was optimistic that he could make connections with the coorporate world of Charlotte and possibly help change the perception of the school. But it just didn’t seem to work out for whatever reason.

I get that. Just saying it wasn’t working with Biff. If the coach is losing, not firing him because he grew NIL is not a good justification for keeping him. You’re still losing.

That’s true but NIL resources are a key without them we will keep losing as well.

I was wondering if mike would try getting Billy Napier if he got fired at Florida but since it seems like the hire will be quick I guess that might be out of the question.

I too had wondered about Napier but with him making first contact as opposed to the other way around. Something along the lines of Mike White jumping ship from UF to UGA when the writing on the wall became all too apparent that his days in Gainesville were numbered.

  • fine, he knows the team
  • he is no longer the HC, not a good look
