A bit strange of a reaction for people posting facts. I thought maybe it was a little early to fire him but to disregard extremely valid points is weird
I thought theyâd give him another year with a fired coordinator, probably Oz. But Iâm not shocked they didnât. They did not play good football. Look, Biff is undoubtedly a good person who deeply cares about his players and wants to help them be successful in life beyond the game. It just didnât work on the field. And this is a business built on winning. Surely everyone understands that. Progress was not being made.
Poggi was incapable of leading, coaching or disciplining these young men so he had to go. I saw it with my own eyes from my seats, heard it from the things he said in the media and witnessed his BS firsthand in his office.
Does he care? Absolutely! Does he want to mentor these players to be better men? Again, that is absolute. Could he deliver the results expected as coach? Clearly, that is a no.
We are an undisciplined, inconsistent team wasting talent on bad play calling, poor clock management and even IF they win out, those 5 wins are NOT a true progression of the program. I am sick on watching our program struggle to compete on the field and hope the next staff actually knows how to COACH!
The last thing I want to say on this is Biff going to practice is a fantastic summary of his tenure here.
What the average person seeing that clip doesnât know is that he was allowed to address the team on Monday Night. So when he goes to practice on Tuesday, itâs not warm and heart felt, heâs intentionally acting in contradiction with what he was asked to do, he knew it was going to be on video, and he was intentionally trying to âstick itâ to mike hill, Charlotte athletics, and UNC Charlotte. He is a man-baby.
When you see someone with complete contempt for their expectations and basic rules and decorum, it doesnât take long to figure out why that same personâs football team, while talented, could never overcome things like pre-snap penalties, and a refusal to get along on the sideline. I said it all along, I thought his coordinators were pretty solid. The things our football team struggled with were the responsibilities of the head coach. I am so glad this guy is gone.
Am I gonna see biff sleeveless niner shirts on locked up abroad in a few years like I saw a niner bball jersey?
From this list I like Wilks and Hamilton.
I could buy into Atkins if he brought on Chris Reynolds as QB coach or some assistant.
Selfishly, Montgomery would be interesting as my family has personal connections to himâŚ
Here is the reality, if any other NC school hired a HS coach who wears shorts and cut off t-shirts without the gun show to back that attire up, theyâd be the laughing stock on this board. And letâs not get too carried away with âbuilderâ; didnât we have one of the highest portal tally for 24 which theoretically was to replace all the portal projects brought in by Coach Biff in 23?
6-16 over 22 games with two of those wins coming from FCS teams with multiple teams hitting the 50 mark or better is not what any school should want of a coach at any level.
If we were 7-5 or 8-4 or even an out of the blue 9-3 once or twice since football started, maybe the level of discontent would be lower, but only one winning season ever is all you need to know about how it was, is and going to be with the same approach and leadership.

Not a fan of Hunterâs list. Most of the names do nothing to move the needle for me. They seem like settling / low hanging fruit.
I occasionally wear green tinted glasses too butâŚcloses loses arenât basically wins. The next two games are not automatic wins (no they arenât automatic losses either). No game is a automatic win with this team. They play WAY too inconsistent on both sides of the ball.
I hope Hunter Bailey doesnât know what heâs talking about. The only person of interest on his list is Skip Holtz
I would take Mullen from that one article. Also, Kerwin Bell if he could bring Kade with him but donât think he would leave Pitt for Charlotte
This conversation Hunter had was worth listening to.
Also, I wanna know where the Tyson Helton stuff originated. Thatâs a name I would not hate at all.
He seems like a very safe, though not cheap hire. If we can get him to leave. He made $923k last year.
Hamilton? Why? Wilks is not staying in college. The fact that tgese articles list him is lazy journalism
I like Hunter but I get second hand embarrassment every time he puts out a perspective football coach list.
All you gotta do is read S post, itâs spot on. Apparently there are some that will defend the untenable to the end. Reminds me of the dude that was always defending Sanchez
There were multiple of those. Then when Ron left us high and dry after recruiting season, they finally saw him for the snake he was.
