Last night on Lutz Live, the coach mentioned that they are getting ready to reveal a big SEC non-conference oppenent for next year. Any one have any idea who that could be?
We already had Miss. St scheduled per another thread. I hope it’s a second SEC team.
I hope it’s Florida. I’d would be good to battle the fiancee (a UF grad) over that one for the next couple of years…
I’d love a shot at Kentucky. Hey, if you’re gonna dream…
It wouldn’t just be Alabama again would it?
Got to be Miss. State.
What ever happened with our little series with Florida? Was it just one-and-one? Don’t forget they absolutely pasted us a few years back (Jobey Thomas days). It would be nice to see us play them again.

That would be absolutely terrific.
Unless something else has occurred, it’s not Kentucky. Bobby played golf in a foursome with Tubby Smith, Billy Packer and Bart Lundy in High Point for the Jerry Steele retirement bash. He said that night to me and once since then that Tubby had not offered a game. Tubby did say that HPU would be on the schedule next season. Big paycheck for the Panthers coming…
It’s probably Mississippi State which had been rumored for months and is mentioned on the season ticket pre-renewal form.

I wonder if there's a new one given this. We knew about Miss. St. and like you said it was on the pre-renewal form, so maybe it's a new one.
Maybe SC has finally decided they don’t mind getting beat other than in scrimmages.
If it’s not Kentucky the only other team I’d be excited about getting would be Florida.
I’d love to play Kentucky again! Two losses by a total of 6 points! Not sure which one hurt the most - the 1976 NIT Final that we should have won or the no-call in Lexington when Byron Dinkons was “mugged” under the basket and the ref called traveling!!! :cuss:

Don’t hold your breath on that one…
How about Georgia? Not really big-time SEC on the round ball side but they’ve had their moments. I agree that Florida would make for a good series…I’m still aching from being at Picasso’s the night they beat us a few years back.

I would love for it to be Florida, just a quick ride up I 75. Especially since we won’t play USF any more after this year.
Originally posted by s9er@Feb 25 2005, 09:39 AM I was there that night... I was the drunk guy. I'm not so sure that really narrows it down considering the crowd that night. :P
I think that’s the night Judy made out there as well. Good crowd…bad outcome.

I would love to see UGA. Would be nice to take a road trip there.
Maybe the SEC opponent will be 1BT (Vanderbilt) or 2BT (UT). We seem to always beat those teams from Tennessee.
B)
For obvious reasons I would love to play LSU. With Butch Pierre down here, I guess that is not out of the question.
I’m thinking either Tennessee or Florida. Kentucky would be great though.
he was referring to Miss State
