I can remember when the local public high school championships were held in the Mine Shaft, not to mention the more-recent PrepStars Invitational Camp.
Why did we get rid of the foldout bleachers at the mine shaft again??
It is a fine idea however, it has nothing to do with Judy Rose. Rental of the Barhardt SAC is under UNCC’s Conference, Reservations and Event Services, not the athletic department. I’m sure if the Bojangles folks are willing to pony up the cash, it could be held there without any complaints.
The same goes for Belk Gym, except that I doubt the University would put bleachers back in there. I always thougth it was a mistake to remove them.
I think it is a great idea to have it here. That is about the fifth time I have heard this suggested. I don’t know where the thought started, but it should be done. I hadn’t realized they removed the bleachers from the Belk Gym. Not sure that was a great idea…

This may be one of those times you make the exception for the fee associated with using it. It should be just a matter of coming up with some way to pay the expenses for security, concessions, etc.
