Sounds like a good idea, we should offer to host this tourny. He’s right, we have great facilities that we could show off, and it couldn’t hurt with recruiting.
I have been saying this for quite a while now. It is idiotic that the event is not held here.
The tournament would not get in the way of our practice due to the new gym, students are out so the SAC would not be hurt, and it is pre-conference season so scheduling wouldn’t be a problem. It is a no-brainer in my mind, and something LONG overdue.
I like this idea a lot. However, don’t be surprised if Judy doesn’t enjoy having somebody else suggest what might be good for the program (ie. football).
i was hoping "the provider" would hop on and help out.
Anything? anyone email any one?
I talked with some friends that tried to go to the tournament, they said it was so crowded that it was “one in, one out” they waited in line for 45 min.
Seriously we should have this thing on our campus.

agreed. definitely looking at past venues Charlotte Latin high school/cpcc/and where ever it was this year. we have the best venue to host this tournament. better parking. better venue. wouldn’t have to worry about seats.

I’m firing off a very succint and precise email to Ms. Rose right now. I’m fairly certain someone talked about this before on this board before Langston wrote the article.
according to the response I got, it would be a University matter, not an athletics department matter. The university owns Halton/Sac/Belk, not the Athletic Department.
While we would benefit that the students would be out, it would hurt us that facilities management personnel would be on break. There would be costs from cleaning, to parking management, etc. Its hard to imagine we couldn’t get some kind of revenue from the tickets. I don’t mean make a profit, but it seems like if the Tournament sold 5000 more tickets over the weekend due to a larger venue that is a good bit of money in ticket sales and concessions. It also makes the tournament that more attractive on a national scale.
