Brawl suspension's handed down

Artest to be suspended for 72 games…Jackson 30

Wallace 6

Stern will not tolerate this behavior by players Good for him.

Jermaine O’Neal gets 25. Bye bye Pacers season…

Wallace’s 6 games is a joke, he started the fight with Artest, and while Artest set down to avoid fighitng, it was Ben that kept it going. If Wallace goes back to his bench, so do the Pacers and none of this happens. He was the one who started it and the one who kept it drawn out long enough for the fan to get involved.

what about their salaries, will Artest still get paid in some way or what. wonder what those details are, pacers are screwed.

6 games is a joke, guess they took fighting fans more seriously then the shove that started it all. it wasn’t like Wallace was a candidate to fight fans though, since he plays for detroit.

All Wallace did was push Artest. He didn’t tell that bonehead to go punch some fan.

All suspensions are without pay…Here is the latest:

Artest has serious issues…

I just watched Stern’s news conference…good guy he wants to try and get this cleaned up.

This is why I don’t ever watch the NBA.

Also agree on Wallace. YOU CANNOT GO IN THE STANDS AND FIGHT FANS PERIOD

On the bright side, Artest will have plenty of time to promote that album now.

I'm not saying he deserves a 30 game suspension, but 6 is a joke. I think 10 should have been the minimum for him, probably closer to 20. If he doesn't push Artest OR if he backed down earlier, NONE OF THE FAN STUFF WOULD HAVE HAPPENED. He had two chances to calm the situation, didn't take either and both times the situation escalated to a higher level it didn't need to go to.

I think too much of these suspensions had to do with image. Stephen Jackson deserved the whole year just as Artest did. Just a messed up situation all together, hard to find a set of penalties that everyone would agree on.

Be careful what you wish for.

After further reviewing the video, I think the Pacers got off very lucky. If you go back and watch, Jermaine O’Neal actually threw a ridiculous cheap shot. Sure the fan had no business being on the floor, but he was getting off the ground and not posing any type of threat. I am actually surprised he didn’t get more for what he did.

I am amazed at some of the defense I have heard about Artest. Agreed with all the suspensions except for Wallace. Should have been 10 game.

Wait til the civil suit.

That fan that got laid out on court willingly threw himself into a melee. I hope any judge who gets that civil suit throws it out and gives that fan hell. And this is by NO MEANS supporting what O’Neal did.

Wallace didn’t force Artest into the stands after a fan. Wallace was the instigator, but that was it. He had nothing to do with Artest going after the people in the crowd. Even if the crowd fed off what he did, he didn’t start the mellee that insued. All Artest had to do was point out the idiot who threw the cup, and that guy would have been escorted out of there. Instead, he runs up in the stands and starts beating on the wrong person. If Wallace deserved a longer suspension for starting the fight with Artest, then I agree. He shouldn’t get a longer suspension for what followed with the crowd, though.

Was he able to even see who throw the cup? He was on his back when it happened.
