How about in the hoop?
He’s definitely not an athlete, but he’s coordinated and he works hard under the basket. Looks like a pretty high IQ player, didn’t look like he does anything stupid out there. The best thing I saw in his videos is that he already knows how to set a screen better than anyone we have had in 10 years. I didn’t see him setting the phantom “give me the ball” screen that I’ve seen out of a lot our players in the past. This late in the game he would be a great score.
Winner
Tcu offers
I think he’d be a fine addition. We should stick with a three man rotation, but with foul trouble and injuries, it’d be good to have the depth. Wouldn’t have a lot of guaranteed minutes, but when he comes into the game he wouldn’t be a liability on offense and he has good habits on defense. Stands straight up and will take a charge. Not another walking 5 fouls.
We have one proven commodity in the post coming back. We need as much depth as we can get and i wouldnt make any assumptions about PT. If this kid comes here and puts the work in he can earn PT just like anyone else.
He’d be a great get and fill a big hole in our roster. I hope he commits.
The article says we offered, but it says nothing about him accepting. We need another frontline player, and I have a funny feeling this may be our last chance.
sign him coach.
My biggest concern in his recruitment is that he’s already taken his 5 visits. I don’t think I’d be able to commit to a school without seeing it. Hopefully his family’s means will permit him to take an unofficial visit.
It sounds like he wants to go to Prep School.
What were his 5 schools?

Kid probably has several big time (or at least P5) schools that have said they’ll offer him if he does a year of prep school.
If we get him I’ll be pretty happy, but I’m not getting my hopes up.
Almost August…no word on this kid. I take it he is not coming here?

Give it some time, that being said, I doubt he comes here. I think he’s playing for larger offers or going prep.
here is my question and i mean no offense to the kid but how much better will he get with a year of prep school. he seems like he does some things well but even if he does come here, with our thin frontcourt, he is probably looking at limited playing time. he still is an average athlete. just because he gets a “bigger” offer, does not mean it is in his best interest to take it.

Agreed. We aren’t Kentucky and getting Kentucky recruits. There’s every opportunity to get a lot of playing time here. I too hope he commits!
