Brice Williams - 2019 Charlotte signee - transferred to Nebraska

Not required viewing but for anyone interested, good interview (13:13) with Brice from July:

Brice got invited to the NBA Draft Combine next week in Chicago. Have seen a couple of mocks that have him going mid to late 2nd round. Hoping he does well this week to get that stock up. Would like the Hornets to get him someway, looks that project they picked last year, Celine Dion, isn’t really working out.

I could be wrong but I don’t think Brice is physical enough for the NBA.

Williams in the NBA with Sanchez unemployed would be some major Karma.

Along with Odom replacing Sanchez in UVA.

If Williams (and possibly Milicic too) makes it to the NBA, along with Jahmir, we have to start saying Sanchez was a very good recruiter.

Well, Alan Major was a good recruiter and we all know how that ended. My guess is Ron was a good recruiter but, like Major, can’t coach for crap.

That was kind of my point that I didn’t articulate well. I wasn’t saying it as justification that Sanchez was a good coach. More so that people often mention Major being a good recruiter, but not Sanchez so much, yet none of Major’s recruits made the NBA.

Unfortunately we have seen that type of performance here at Charlotte. Hope he can bounce back and show his skills off.

He bounced back big time on day 2, leading all scorers with 24.

From what I’ve read, Brice looking good to be drafted in the 2nd round. Have seen him projected as high as 43 to being the last player selected at 59.

Remember: Sanchez didn’t think he deserved to start.

Yea. And do you see Ron coching now?

Yep, figured Ron would eventually land somewhere though didn’t think it would be another P5 right away. Was thinking probably a MM like Liberty (per Bennett coaching tree) but the good ol’ boy safety network is alive and well.

Love Brice but he was a mess his first few years here and rightfully so. He has made great strides his last year here and at Nebraska. I wish him well even though it pissed me off when he left.

I disagree. He was only a mess because Ron didn’t believe in him. Took my son to those back to back games he started and scored over 30 both times. Ron still didn’t believe in him. Pissed me off so badly.

Ron ran off a legacy. A very talented one. Will never forgive him for that alone.

Yep, hated to see Brice leave but he did give us four years and got his degree. Don’t blame him for wanting to see how he stacked up against much higher level competition. Sure, probably could have picked a better place to transfer to but he did end up being top dog for the Huskers this past season and made all Big Ten. Now it looks like he get drafted later this month.

Agree. Would have been cool to see him finish here and get drafted, but he ultimately made a good decision for himself.
