Cal State Fullerton POST-GAME

After Providence I said we’d be lucky to go 1-5 in our next six (CSF, SIU, Miss St, Young St, Long Island, Maryland), so seeing this score isn’t too surprising.

Ian should not be playing more than 10 min let alone 25.

He’s our best shooter…

He's our best shooter.....

no he was 5 for 18 in this tournament

Sadly, you’re both right.

He’s our best shooter, but he’s the worst player at every other aspect of the game.

Can’t dribble, can’t play defense, can’t pass, can’t rebound…
Ian played too much. If you have Ian in the game, don’t pass him the damn ball!
*fixed again

today’s game was a reminder of what it is like to be kicked in the groin.

it hurts.

I've been critical of his play, but this is over-the-top. He would be a fine player in a reserve role, provided the other defenders on the court can shade over to help him defend quicker players. Why was he at the top of the key in our zone defense?

If he’s hitting his jumper, then he fills a need for us. He should not have a green light to take crazy shots. Could we try to get him the ball in a position to be effective? This goes for a number of other players. Why is Mack trying to take his man off the dribble so much? Did we really need 7 games to figure out he needs to spot up or post up down low?
ā€œCharlotte really competed. It looked like we were in control, but they came back and tied it up,ā€ Fullerton coach Bob Burton said.

ā€œIt was good to beat a really good team like Charlotte.ā€
A really good team? really? did you actually watch any tape of our previous games this year?

ā€œIt is Charlotte’s longest losing streak since it lost 12 in a row in coach Jeff Mullins’ first season, 1985-86. The 49ers are 1-6 for the first time since 1984-85.ā€

Let’s not go for this record, please.

have not read the entire thread…but has it been mentioned CAL STATE F’N FULLERTON outrebounded us 48-35???

there is no excuse for that. nada

how does Coley play 36 minutes, have a 40 inch vert, and only grab 6 REBS???

Dude, He’s the second coming of Chris Sager. However, he’s going to get major minutes with Lutz. He’s our best 3 ball option and that’s what Lutz loves. It’s all he knows how to coach.

my internet got messed up with 10 min left... surprised we actually came back but wtf happened in ot?!?
Do you have any tape of last year? Just pop in one of those where our whole offense revolved around Leemire coming off of a couple of screens then shooting an off-balance 3-ball with a guy running at him. The only difference yesterday was Lutz had Ian instead of Leemire. It was somewhat comical to watch.

The average fan does not realize just how bad we are.

no it’s pretty obvious this year…

And to think I was down on myself for not going to a bar to watch any of the weekend crap. I’ve seen it all before…

Tell me, was at any point late in the game a throw-in under our basket and we ran FIVE?

Unfortunately I don’t know how this can be avoided.

Sadly…that DOES make him our best shooter!!
