Yep. That’s what it was. I remember when it was built and when it was in operation for a while.
If I remember right, it violated standards from day 1.

I can’t find a picture of Wachovia Fieldhouse anywhere on the net to point to, but the round part underneath the peak of the building was missing when I drove by earlier (see crude drawing below). I can’t remember what was there before. I wonder what they’re doing with that? Putting in a Wells-Fargo logo?

I work across I-85 at the CIC facility and they are rebadging our facility now.

State law says all residence halls have to have sprinklers and it wasn’t cost-effective to try to retrofit them; same thing with Martin and Hunt Villages, too: they’re going to be demolished over the next couple years. Eventually Phase III and Martin will be replaced with high-density housing.[/quote]
It looks like Wilson was visiting Phase III in this 9 minute segment. They’re removing cabinets, doors, etc. for Habitat for Humanity.

With football, light rail and Center City building it seems this school may actually start to connect with Charlotte over the next decade…now if only our name could be Univ. of Charlotte or Charlotte Univ. we would be set
How does the Center City Building look at night? Sharp looking building though and cool looking interior. The sign looks nice and sleek as well.
The timing on this building couldn’t be better. When the Democratic National Convention comes to town I bet we will see the new City Center building on TV when they show Charlotte because of the eye-catching design.
Philips Road re-construction is now ahead of schedule
That’s only a minor flood. Back before they built the CRI Campus we used to call that area Lake Toby. The '95 Master Plan called for making that whole area a flood control lake but the EPA got involved and said no. They need to go ahead and build the pedestrian bridge and new road near Phase IX dorms.
Doesn’t the current or a very recent incarnation of the master plan call for turning that into a “lake?” I’m positive I’ve seen something like that in a very recent plan.
Also, I feel bad for whoever’s car that is in the pics.

That car looks like it’s ON Phillips Rd, which means the person tried to drive through the water. If that’s the case my sympathy is tempered by their dumbassness.
