I’m tired of the Panthers going after garbage QBs thinking we can somehow make them a franchise player. Talent assessment is way off. Need to go all in on someone proven or get a high draft pick. Should have tanked for Trevor.
This team needs so much… A franchise QB. 4/5ths of an offensive line, a punter, a kicker…
And they traded away draft picks for DBs that aren’t even playing?
Will he be back in time for the playoffs?

I sure hope not. Too much smoke for there not to be fire. I’d rather lose than have that type of person on the panthers. I’m not judging him though lol

Trading for Watson wouldn’t reek of desperation at all.

You’re right. Trading for Watson now absolutely is desperation. And it doesn’t change all the other holes we have on offense and special teams.
Unless we are okay with the baggage and Watson is our franchise QB for the long haul (I have no idea what his contract status is), then the Panthers shouldn’t do this.
That said, Darnold is awful and only looked good when CMC covered for his shortcomings. I just cannot stand having the stink of Jets failure on this franchise. Meanwhile the Bills are winning with our old players.
Darnold has definitely looked really bad the last few weeks, but to be fair, his O line is responsible for at least 50% of his struggles, probably more.
How ironic would this be for a franchise whose owner was forced out for things way tamer than what Watson is accused of. Can’t know for sure, but I’m guessing Richardson would never approve this trade.

Wasn’t this a “win now” year I read? The panthers prob should have listened to that one pre season article and been happy going through the motion and getting #1 pick next year.

The Panthers are so depressing right now, since that horrible Monday night game in Pittsburgh in 2018, we couldn’t make this many bad decisions if we tried. Did the Panthers secretly hire Judy Rose and do everything she says?
At this point I say you just roll Darnold out there and if we lose the rest, we lose the rest, then you either take a QB in round 1 or a OT any other position is pointless. I think I read somewhere between the Bridgewater experiment and now Darnold we have spent like 50 Million on QB’s and we still don’t have one… smh

I was really hoping our dumb decisions by Marty Hurney were behind us, but that just doesn’t look like the case, it’s really a shame because Rhule build this Defense to be sometime special, unfortunately the offense can’t hold the ball for more than 1 minute and 3 plays on offense and we are averaging less than 10 points a game over our last 3.
I just don’t get why they spend all that cap space and a few draft picks to go from Teddy B to Sam Darnold… The QB position is by far the weakest position off the 11 players, we don’t even need a guy to be Aaron Rodgers, just need someone to not turn the ball over and manage the game, which is what we actually had with Teddy last year.
The QB decisions over the last 12 months are going to kill us for the next 2 years.
As bad as SD has been the last few weeks, the majority of his troubles can be traced to the OL. That group is beyond awful. The QB is so rattled by how poor they are, he seems to be surprised and still rushes things on the rare occasion he gets more than 2 seconds in the pocket.
