I can see us being anywhere from 4-7. We need Derrio and Deuce to stay health to be at 4.

I’m going to go both bolder and more conservative and one-up 2k. I see us finishing anywhere from 1st to 14th. You can write that down with your ink pen.

I only have a Sharpie, will that work?

Spears has to do better than 3rd team all A10 for us to be a factor. Also, Derrio being somewhere on the list wouldn’t hurt either.

They picked us 7th last year and we finished tied for 5th!!!

If no one gets hurt, I’ll be disappointed by a 7th place finish. The back court depth is a serious concern, but other than that, we should be in good shape.

" I’m not much for giving inspirational addresses, but I’d just like to point out that every newspaper in the country has picked us to finish dead last (7th). The local press seems to think that we’d save everyone the time and trouble if we just went out and shot ourselves. Me, I’m for wasting sportswriters’ time. So I figured we ought to hang around for a while and see if we can give 'em all a nice big shitburger to eat!" - Lou Brown

Well played

This has been thier mojo for years, pick us to finish low and we usually blow it out of the water, how it will work with a new coaching staff is anyone’s guess.

Usually when we were picked low under Lutz are the years we did well. “Blow it out of the water” may be a bit strong since we joined the A10.

The interesting thing this year is that we’re being judged based on Lutz’s last team, because no one knows anything about Major. And we still have Lutz’s players, though that’s not really a bad thing. I like this team. Just wish we had another PG.

well played indeed.

one thing that people seem to be overlooking when predicting where we will finish is the fact that we have a real coach. assuming everyone stays healthy(knock on wood), the idea of our talent with a coach who emphasizes defense means the difference between us losing a road game to a team like gw and winning that game. we have the talent. while we dont have a ton of depth, that could change if we see significant improvement from either gokhan or kj, both of whom gave us only a little last season. if one of those guys has a breakout year, hopefully gokhan because he has more upside, than that can be the difference between us finishing seventh and us finishing first.

Well, 4 pages of discussion on the A-10 board thus far and the thread hasn’t devolved into a Dayton-Xavier pissing match - yet! Even the now seemingly reclusive WH has chimed in.

Spears is a confounding bowling ball.

If Braswell averages 14 pts and 11 rebs I will crap myself. Happily.

The guy said Braswell will be the biggest beneficiary of the new coaching change, get more minutes. Seems reasonable. Last year Bras got 9.5 pts and 8.6 boards in 22.6 minutes. You might get the poopy pants.

I was just talking with my dad about Braz today. As good as he was under a very guard oriented coach, imagine how well he will be under a big man specialist like Major. I really could see him averaging 14 and 11 or so
