Charlotte 49ers new branding unveil June 2020

I mean…it’s our new official shade of green.

I’m fine with NY Jets green. That picture doesn’t look like it to me. Probably the actual court will be fine

That isn’t the actual court?

In the sense that a picture of something is not the actual thing, absolutely.

The picture I posted was a screenshot from the video they put out. It might not be the best quality so take it for what it is worth.

I did hear in an interview with Fuller that they had to modify and test out different shades of green for the basketball court because the paint that was used bleeds into the wood and changed the shade a bit. They had to use a different shade so that when blended into the wood, it matched our standard color.

Here is the official green from the Branding Style Guide:

Yeah the video makes the color look closer to our old green, definitely lighter than the rebrand. Maybe looks a bit different in person. I still like it overall compared to the old court

From what I understand its not paint on the court but green stain that allows the wood to show through. As a result I would expect the color to be a little off.

Why would we do that? I’m not sure why it wouldn’t match.

Maybe it looks different in person.

at 31:45 of this interview, Fuller explains the court paint.

I just assumed the court was refinished off-site at some court refinishing company and delivered. When they pull the court pieces apart go do they keep the paint/sealer from cracking/peeling/pulling?

Closer look at the court.

The green looks teal.

Agreed. But if you zoom in it the base line color looks similar to to seats which is definitely green.

Inside the arc does NOT look orange/gold so that’s good

For every game we win, the court will get more green.

I’m fine with that, as long as we don’t start calling ourselves the Seahawks.

It’s the green stain as opposed to using green paint. Not sure why they went with the stain…it does look light and a little odd that you can see the wood grain. Almost looks like brush marks.

As long as our court never looks like this I can get on-board.
