Charlotte Baseball Update

The baseball team went 3-2 last week. Both losses killed us in the RPI. On the bright side, a win tomorrow at Charleston can pole vault us back up in the rankings. We will also need to win 2 of the three remaining ACC games to get back into contention for an at-large berth before we get into conference. At that point, our RPI is not likely to rise even if we win most all of our conference games.

Our opponents to date and their RPI rankings:

#6 Wake Forest 1W 2L
#281 Canisius 3W
#182 Indiana 3W
#239 Cleveland State 3W
#107 Virginia Tech W
#185 Furman W
#223 NC A&T L
#215 Siena 2W 1L

Remaining non-conference opponents and their rankings:

#21 College of Charleston - 1 game
#206 LeMoyne - 3 games
#14 Winthrop - 1 game
#8 North Carolina - 2 games
#153 Appalachian St. - 2 games
#185 Furman - 1 games
#107 Virginia Tech - 1 game

The conference and their RPI rankings to date (in bold are the teams we play - 3 games each):

#15 Rhode Island 0-0-0 4-2-0
#81 Xavier 0-0-0 5-10-0
#94 George Washington 0-0-0 5-9-0
#140 Saint Louis 0-0-0 7-6-0
#143 Charlotte 0-0-0 14-4-0
#167 Richmond 0-0-0 4-11-0
#191 Duquesne 0-0-0 1-10-0
#225 Fordham 0-0-0 3-10-0
#229 Dayton 0-0-0 7-6-0
#249 Temple 0-0-0 3-7-0
#269 Saint Joseph’s 0-0-0 4-13-0
#270 La Salle 0-0-0 1-11-0
#275 Massachusetts 0-0-0 1-2-0
#276 St. Bonaventure 0-0-0 4-4-0

It will be nice if they announce the baseball score tomorrow night, especially if we win. They could also announce that the win was over a highly ranked team and our current record.
