Spectrum sports guy just predicted a 20 point dook win. He pretty much scoffed at the 9.5 point spread. Hope our coaches and team saw that. WIN.
I scoffed at the idea App could beat us by 20 when the spread came out at 22ā¦sure as hell donāt think Duke is as good as App. The line is around 9 which is fairā¦I would consider it embarrassing to lose to this Duke team by 14 or more even on the road.
I believe we are certainly more likely to win as we are to lose by 20.

I am really curious to see how we match up. I was really disappointed with how poorly we played against App in the second half but that was the first game of the season. I donāt expect us to lose by 20. Duke is 1-5 and clearly not a great team BUT do not underestimate the talent advantage they have. Weāll need to play very well to win. Lets put it all together Saturday and get the win!
Second half will be tough. So many times a G5 program is winning or tied and then the talent depth shows in the 3rd and 4th qtrs. Duke will go to the bench with ACC recruits we will go to the bench with some Lambert recruits. I think we can win - not ready to say we should.

Iām not optimistic for several reason.
1). No pressure on the qb. This is a huge issue that has gotten swept under the ring due to wins against inferior opponents, a weather game, and an inaccurate qb. An average Qb and wrās will carve us up becauseā¦
2). The DBās arenāt breaking up a lot of passes. When we are effective, we are dropping guys back into coverage, which
3). Leaves the middle open for teams to run on. Basically we are most effective when we guess the play correctly. I think our defense would have a hard time with offensive counterplays and deception.
- On the other side of the ball, we need more from the OL as we arenāt getting great push or time to throw. Most of the OL is new which meansā¦
5). You canāt open the playbook. We were most effective last season sending Reynolds one way and Lemay the other. If feel like we arenāt doing that as much because of the OL plus a desire to not have Reynolds get killed. I think Duke will be better coached and have better athletes than UTEP who we had a problem with in this regard. The Reynolds āfree styleā will not be as effective against Duke as UTEP.
Of course, I could be wrong.
Iām concerned about this game because Duke has been in most of their games so far. Their downfall has been turnovers. If they clean them up it will be a tough win for us. Grice could finally have his breakout game too. Weāll have to play our best, not make stupid mistakes and have a few breaks go our way.
We may have to play over our heads to win this game, but that is what these opportunities are all about. Change the world.

Iām going FG in final seconds for the win. Duke is 98th in turnover margin at -1.8 and we are 17 at +1. Thatās the difference that allows us to keep it close.
