Why was there so much extra time in this match?
Think there were what 7 minutes of extra time? A little high but not that unusual when players are going down regularly.
Or did you mean the two 15s of overtime they played?
Per US Open Cup rules, played two 15 minute OT periods after being tied at the end of regulation.
Maybe both, but the highlight videos I saw of the goals scored had ET beside the timer, not OT. Sorry for my ignorance.
It’s just different verbiage.
The extra time added to the end of each half = stoppage time
What you and I would call “overtime” = extra time
Actually played two 15 minute OT periods after regulation ended 0-0.
Same thing in yesterday’s Barcelona vs Inter Milan Champions League semifinal match after it ended 3-3 following 90 minutes.
Think they went to like 7 minutes of stoppage time, IIRC. With the half hour of overtime periods, that was a long game. As good as our starters looked when we put them in late, let’s also not fool ourselves. NCFC was pretty gassed by that point. Better players vs tired players = 4 to 1 victory.
Also @49er1 , no need to apologize. Soccer has its own ridiculous set of terms, weird rules, and slang. I honestly think it’s one of the worst sports for that.
Bender lands fairly close to his hometown and pre-pro roots in Maryland.
Kind of a.snoozer half. We aren’t converting any good chances.
Not a snoozer anymore after both teams score within a minute of each other.
Bronico assist on CLTFC goal.

And just like that Nashville gets the go ahead score 5 minutes later. Ugh
Guys drop third straight match and fall to 6th in the Eastern Division as Nashville leapfrogs into 5th by a point.
