When I first saw this game on the schedule and the Panthers playing in atl earlier the same day, I almost had a sports-gasm :o . But now⌠not so much, so we wonât be there. Although, I am heartened by our last two gutted-out performances.
Next week the wife and I are going to richmond to meet our future daughterâs-in-law parents, and guess what? As it would turn out (after some âplanningâ on my part) :)) , weâre going to the NINERS game there on 1-5-11. HAPPY NEW YEAR!! :-*

there is some not so good seats in that arena, some of the seats have odd angles towards the court. In general you are far from the action, more like a stadium at a football game.
The hallways in the arena, are very nice though. Coming off their loss in the bowl game plus the loss to kennesaw state and siena, and being a sunday game, it will not be very crowded, that is for sure. Football team performance has a large impact on bball attendance in this region.
I hope we are hosting a large number of our recruits at this game.

All of the GT grads that came with me to the game at Halton last year told me that Halton was much better than Alexander Coliseum. A few of them have come back to Halton for more games.
My 2nd cousin who went to GT & is a masterâs engineering student/undergrad instructor at UNC Charlotte was talking sH8t at Christmas, & then gives the I donât even like sports crap. I hope we smoke GT. :))
FYI, here is a copy of the email that was sent to those signed up for the tripâŚ
Fellow 49ers -
I hope that you are all excited about traveling to Georgia Tech this Sunday to see the 49ers take on the Yellow Jackets! I want to give you a few items of information that you may find helpful.
Date of departure : Sunday, January 2nd
Time of departure: 11:00 am
Point of departure: Lot 25 on the UNC Charlotte campus (across Cameron Blvd. from Witherspoon Hall and adjacent to the Facilities Management bldg.)
Campus map: http://facilities.uncc.edu/FileManager/files/Maps/InteractiveUnccCampusMap.pdf
Game time: 6 pm
If you need to reach me the morning of the trip, please call my cell #, which is 704-309-9831.
Once you arrive, please check in at the bus. You do not need to bring any confirmation with you. We will have your reservation on the list.
Once we arrive in Atlanta, we will be pre-gaming at Taco Mac at 933 Peach Tree St. NE.
You can get more information about Taco Mac, including a menu here: http://tacomac.com/
Game tickets will be distributed once we arrive at the restaurant. (Our tickets are at will call at GT and I will retrieve them once we arrive.)
Taco Mac is approximately 4 blocks from the arena. Depending on the weather, some of you may elect to walk to the arena. For those not wishing to walk, the bus will be available.
Once the game has concluded (with a 49ers victory) we will depart for Charlotte immediately.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me directly. See you Sunday! Go Niners!
