Someone said he was a finalist, but UConn picked Mora over him. Haven’t seen that from 2 independent sources so I don’t know how accurate it is.
Biff has a chance to build something special here and leave his mark on the program for years to come.
I can’t reminded where I saw he was Uconn finalist…let me try to find article.
Looks like Hunter Bailey is posting clips:
It’s in this article but it’s now a pay walled…

Nov 8, 2022 — A few days before Michigan won the Big Ten title game, Poggi got serious consideration from UConn to be its head coach. Jim Mora got the job.
clt says bet on osu Saturday, Michigan will miss biff
One-on-one with Biff Poggi
“I’m going sleeveless. That’s all coming back.”
He goes into his management philosophy.
“When players feel loved and safe, they lose the fear of failing. And you can’t be great if you’re afraid to fail.”
He reveals his ultimate dream in 3 to 5 years. Take a listen!
This made me laugh. Yes, we know you meant “run”.
I like his dream.
Biff is very football smart, and worldly smart. He makes Healy seem like the coach of Austin Peay
He is setting his own bar very high. I love the confidence. And never once did he “admit” he wasn’t a great football coach.
80k stadium huh? Love the enthusiasm. He might need to calm down just a bit.
I’ll settle for 45k and be a happy clam if we get there.
Watching more stuff on him I can see the idea better. However, one thing I don’t think has been mentioned yet, Poggi himself said thanks to Hill for taking a chance because the hire is unconventional.
I also found his comments on his business adventures to be very vague. Maybe he just wants to talk football/now.
What was vague?
yea, could you imagine if Judy was around and he said some crazy stuff like that.
Felt like he didn’t wanna get too deep into the derivatives thing, or discuss who his investors were.
The 2 biggest takeaways I liked beside pay t play are internships for football players at local big businesses and a type of fluid partnership with The Michigan Wolverines. How sweet for us to work together as football and basketball programs to fight and defeat those southern institutions in the ACC and SEC would conspire with each other constantly and historically to our detriments.
