He sure is saying all the right things, heâs shooting for the stars⌠falling on the moon isnât a bad thing, like most of us have said a few 6-7 wins seasons would be great, he said multiple times he wants to win the AAC! We would need to expand the stadium quick.

Dude has his eye on not just the AAC crown, but the G5 autobid to the CFP. He wants to compete right away.
He was asked about what his pitch was to kids currently on the roster to get them to stay. He said this is a team and they have team goals - if itâs all about you, then the portal is there, and we will go find someone who wants to be part of the team and wants to win. âand we will find those guys cause they are out thereâ.
He said he will use the portal to benefit the roster right away as well. He is not afraid of it.
He also said we will see an immediate upgrade in talent, and made it clear that if there are ex players of his at âpowerâ (and he did the air quotes) schools that want to be part of this, he will be talking to them.
Damnit I donât wanna get too optimistic, but he is persuasive.

Heâs a big personality for sure. I loved everything he said (like all of you I am sure). I hope he can deliver particularly getting more talent on the roster. I donât know how you canât be excited after listening to him.

My take:
Garber is really behind our sports program, really like her
Michigan and Charlotte will be working together.
Transformation coach.
Noted several times goal is to win the AAC and go to fbs playoffs.
Participate in NIL as a team.
Already working on recruiting even as late as last night.
Going to hit the portal strongly.
Pro style defense and offense, Will run the ball a lot.
There will be TEAM play.
We are not behind of schedule on what needs to be done, âI work a lot of hoursâ
Met with players for a long time yesterday afternoon and last night.

One of the thoughts amongst the media types that cover CFB is that that next year is going to be a big reset for the AAC, which would be an opportune time to come in as a new coach and make a mark. I get the feeling that Poggi, in investor style thinking, sees that and intends to make a big move in that window. I think that is fueling his comments and strategy to compete right away. There will not be an 800 lb gorilla program in the league to dethrone since the 3 big dogs are leaving. I think heâs right, and I just hope he can execute it because it could be a fun ride.

I was blown away by Poggiâs press conference. If he is as good a football coach, as he is as a persuasive, speaker and motivator we are going to be good under his leadership

Agree with posts above, but no one mentioned he has had multiple FBS HC offers in the last two years. He was waiting for the right opportunity, and he says we are the right one.
