Same here. I was dead wrong.
Not sure how I feel about this.
I suppose if a former MVP will agree to come here and resign you have to do it. Itās a talent elevation.
However I donāt want to gut the team.
If itās ball and salary filler and picks fine.
But if itās Ball and Miller and picks I say no
Letās play it out.
I am a big proponent of it aināt broke donāt fix it. I would do what I could to not breakup the core that is playing so well together recently.
If you can add to the core without disturbing the core or giving away future drafts, maybe.

I donāt know these players that well - someone wanna weigh in on whether this was a good trade or not?

Hunter weighs in.
Just heard on the radio that Conley might never suit up for the Hornets⦠buyout?
I didnāt realize Conley was still in the NBA. After almost 20 seasons in the league his best days are behind him.
White could prove to be an excellent pickup. We didnāt recruit him though ECU did offer.
It might work out alrightāābut I like Collin Sexton. He is pretty good.
I think itās a good trade.
Frankly White seems overqualified as a PG2.
Could this be a prelude to a Ball deal to get in a different star?
If you could get Giannis for Ball, Salaun and as many picks as we can muster do you do it?
They have traded for two point guards.
I think this could mean they are trading Ball.
3 if you count White as a 1/2. Jones, Conley and White. Definitely donāt see both Jones and White on the roster when itās all said and done. I think White is potentially an upgrade over Sexton, can play the 2 a little better. But I also felt like Sexton brought some toughness to the team, so we will see.
The other down side is that White will demand a larger salary in FA next season. If that means theyāre trading Ball, then maybe this is a good thing. But if this is just for a playoff run for this season, Iām not sure I see the point.
Iām so torn on Ball. He does still seem reckless at times and his injuries are always a concern. Not sure he can be the answer for a title run. But thereās no denying the team is better when he plays and he is the clear alpha on the team. Who will be that alpha if he leaves.
Reading about all these NBA trades has reminded me that Conley was at Ohio State at the same time as Alan Major.
Also, Conley - through his motherās side of the family - is a cousin of Pelicans 2-way hoopster Trey Alexander, who is a nephew of former Niner DeāAngelo Alexander.
The acquisition of white and jones could simply be insurance against ball injury.
Seems like the hornets had a good trade deadline.
