To the 20-21 Niners Basketball seasonâŚ
We are now a volleyball/womenâs tennis school. Anyone recall how pissed we were when Judy brought up our successes in minor sports?
This!!
I truly think baseball is about to have a breakout seasonâŚdoesnât make me feel any better about basketball though.
Being good at baseball doesnât make it okay to suck at basketball. My concern now is that we will have about three non-portal players come Spring
ProbablyâŚI donât blame them actually. Sanchezâ âstyleâ sucks to watch and judging by our players expressions and body language must suck to play in as wellâŚunless youâre winning big time, which we are not doing.
Not being an apologist for MT - especially post-Kermit Davis - but when we rejoined C-USA they were one of the programs we aspired to be. During Davisâs final five seasons in Murfreesboro, the Blue Raiders went 124-49, won three regular season titles and two tournament championships. The 2015-16 team finished 31-5, including the NCAAT win over #2 seed Michigan State. The 2017 team replicated MTâs âmasteryâ over the Big Ten with the NCAAT win over Minnesota.
Now, losing to the Nick McDevitt version of the Blue Raiders is a totally different matter.
Nick has been there 3 years. I believe we are now 1-4 against his MT teams. All on Sanchez watch.
I am done for the rest of the year, sad to say those words. Just canât watch good players not be allowed to attack until shot clock is under 5.
We have no one that can guard the rim.
I am just done.
Bring back Alan Price or Mark Major
Same shit different game.

JustâŚbrutal. Not surprising but still another gut shot.
Have we had a loss yet where it didnât just come down to the other team wanting it more than we did?
Who cares. Both MBB and WBB got beat by Middle Tennessee today. I really donât care what happens tomorrow or the rest of the season. When I was a student we played Cincy, Marquette, DePaul, Louisville, etc. Now weâre getting beat by schools like middle Tennessee and Belmont abbey for fucâs sake. Thank you Judy Rose and to Mike Hill, grow a pair and fire both our coaches. Theyâve had their chance to prove something and theyâve shown theyâre posers.

Yes!!!
I will repeat what I said earlier in the thread - I donât follow why our second best player is coming off the bench. This would be a terrible way to lose another good player to the transfer portal. If we are going to lose, at least do it with out best 5 starting.
He brought him off the bench for the 2nd UAB game and he had a great game 22 points. He put him back in the line and he scored single digits next 3 games (8,7,3). Brought him off the bench for 2nd FIU game and he scored 15.
Canât knock Ron much for this decision. He seems to play better off the bench.
That was a frustrating loss as we had all of the opportunity to win. I think Sanchez still needs to work on his substitutions. He did a good job rotating guys in the 1st half. The 2nd not so much.
I get crapping on the team as it seems they play to the level of competition. They can beat anyone or lose to anyone. However, believe it or not we are not far off. The 5 spot on this team is a struggle. Everyone was hoping that Supica would step up this season and be the consistent big that we see flashes of. That didnât happen so we see more of Anzac and Garcia. Those guys arenât ready yet, but I still think they bring value. I think Garcia will be a really good player, but he had 60 minutes of game time at the collegiate level before last night. I think he earned more PT last night. He does need to think about his shot selection. Those open 3s will likely be available later in the shot clock as well.
If we can improve the 5 position, we will be much more successful as a team.
We arenât that far off. We just need a different coach.
