Charlotte owed $10.5 million from the state

I second this.

Is anyone really suprised at all???

What made me mad was how the Observer claimed Speaker Black has been looking out for UNC Charlotte for about 10 years. Well, he’s been Speaker for 9, so couldn’t the man in charge of the whole NC House work some magic?
I am a UNCC grad, & I did run. Alas, I got beat in District 107. And one of my issues was equitable funding for UNCC. The guy that beat me went to Chula (Chapel Hill U. of Liberal Arts.)
Of course according to the paper my opponent got $ from Black’s slush fund to give to groups he’s on that are popular with voters to buy the election. Unfortunately it bought the election in the Queer Heels favor. LOL.

If people on this board are really passionate about Charlotte getting its place in the sun, then you’ll have to put party concerns aside. Until we get Charlotte alums running against each other for state house and senate seats, then nothing will change. As long as Tarholes keep running for seats in the surrounding areas, nothing for us will change. I voted for Vinroot, but if you think he would have pulled the trigger for Charlotte over his alma mater, then you’re delusional. Don’t like it, run for office.

I'd buy season tickets and I don't even like you all. :D

clt will run for office.

Like I said, I already did run. Didn’t work out too well.

you just need to find a better district to run in.

I tried the response page on his site, don’t know if it comes up or not.

I’m no big fan of giving away money for free, but that’s what UNC-CH and NCSU have been recieving for years, at the expense of other schools like UNCC and ECU.

We recieved voter approval to build the Charlotte Institute and now its time for the Legislature to pass the money out equitably!

looks like it showed up

clt took care of it. don’t worry about it.

clt, 1st coach of the Charlotte 49ers Football Team!

We need to do a letter writing campaign to our local Reps. & Sens. in State Gov’t., plus the head honchos in the Gen. Assembly. Have all of us schedule a day off to go to Raleigh, call a press conference w/ several hundred alums, faculty, & supporters, & get attention for our cause.
