Actually Scoot Henderson Elite aka S.H.E. (yes, sorta corny). The boys squad is Team Scoot. Georgia AAU programs sponsored by Puma.
Anyway, good to see weโre still in hot pursuit of legacy Alexander.

We offered 2026 C Abuna Ruop of Norfolk in June and she visited last month. Also made visits to Clemson and NC State.
With teaching loke that, we will definitely have a more physical team than in the past.
clt asks if they are playing ball, or just sightseeing?
Havenโt seen a schedule yet. Luckily team left today instead of later in the week when travel looks to be dicier due to TS Debby.
Hopefully they will get to do some quality sightseeing too!
Would think the team is on the direct AA flight to Rome. Itโs a 9+ hour journey that left CLT just after 6PM. Time difference is 6 hours, so 3AM here will be 9AM there.
Oh look, some actual instruction on how to play the game. A refreshing change from practice just being inter squad games against the practice guys.
Did you go to practices last year, or did they also film like now for the social media?
I know they were looking for some male practice players for the season, but aside from that, Coach Reed was under a time crunch, and this European tour is all new for her and staff, but she had to get them ready for it.
The 10 practice days they got in preparation for it was nice, and they get to see the first few games against different teams before the season starts. So they are still early and learning, but it will all be used to learn. One thing I can say from watching Dawn Staleyโs teams, and with coach Reed being similar, getting them to understand the importance of defense makes all the difference.
I think this will European Tour help improve Coach Reed and Staff, and I know historically in this conference USF has been to the tournament plenty, them and East Carolina were already on South Carolinaโs schedule this year, not sure what was agreed to next year, but I would expect Charlotte to play them next season or the one after that for sure.
I didnโt see any of the previous coaches games, but I can only get that at the very least, Coach Reedโs emphasis on defense is different from what you all were used to? You heard the interviews so far like I have, but I do think that Charlotte was the right fit for Coach Reed. She wonโt have to deal with the fanbase of Tennessee, I know the SEC real well, while itโs not all, some of them donโt have realistic expectations, and iโm sure some are expecting Coach Caldwell to come in and Win the conference right away.
Iโm sure Coach Reed will want and will expect to rule the AAC, she may even give the conference another spot for post season. The AD here really seems to be supporting her like the one at JSU did, while they couldnโt match financially or facility wise. It is important to have an AD who supports the program, that makes all the difference.
Seems the Menโs program here is also good and successful, so that can only help when Coach Reed elevates the Womenโs Program to the next level. I did see what USF and UCF are paying the coaches now, Charlotte can surely match that given success for Coach Reed, so I wouldnโt worry about a bigger name school scooping her away, at least not until the money really becomes that big a difference.
This is the only board I have decided to post to, I only read the others, for the most part itโs really good, going to be nice to have this one on the rotation. I look forward to seeing more from the trip and how Coach Reed feels it went after it ends.
Great update! Thanks! Go Niners!!!
Yes, Iโve been to practices both under Cara and our former coach Karen Aston.
Caraโs practices were, shall we say, less intense. She did learn the value of defense after about 5 years. Rebounding, not so much.
Looking forward to the season. Keep the posts coming
Was Karen Aston here after Texas? I remember seeing her at Texas, but didnโt see her after that.
She was here before - 2007-2011. Now HC at UTSA.
There are more on the IG Stories, more sites and some basketball drills, so if you have IG check out the stories to see those updates. They may put them on X, Facebook or an IG post later, but the story is the only sure thing. The IG Page is here Charlotte Women's Basketball (@charlottewbb) โข Instagram photos and videos
Does anyone know when and how many games the ladies will be playing?
Just saw on Twitter, played first game today in Rome and lost 63-66. Have no idea as to the team played except it was in Rome
This trip could be very good for the ladies with all the new players. I imagine it will take a while for the team to gel.
