charlotte49ers.com Facelift

I'm gonna get booed or cussed for this but the site looks like it was designed by a webdesign class student for a generic dhtml assignment that deserves an "I" grade. Nice rough draft, now finish/fix it.

I tend to agree

I detest sites that, when I’m at work, force video and audio upon me when I go to them. That video shouldn’t automatically play, there should be a choice.

All the other comments have been stated already.

wow,
nice upgrade to the new official athletic website, www.charlotte49ers.com

the video that plays at the top is kick ass

oh crap, please delete this mods

I did not see the original thread

I love the new site.

The video is great, and you can stop it if you like- similar to ESPN’s website video feed.

I wonder if everyone in the cstv network took part in a mass new design or just us?

Don’t you know what happens when you ask for a thread to be deleted?

it gets sent to the land of the Golddusters thread?

Just like this

Actually Kevin, this is what happens.

Ok, maybe it was wishful thinking instead of cold hard facts.

But, in reality this is what happens.

Honestly, the Charlotte49ers.com video automatically playing has to go. It’s so annoying every time you go to the page that it just plays without asking.

(As metro said, you can stop it similarly to ESPN.com’s video, except when I go there at least it’s just talking, not loud music, and also its something different every time not the same video).

If they still want it to automatically play, they should be sophisticated enough to enable a cookie that would show if you’ve already had it auto-play on your computer and the second time visiting the site it shouldn’t just auto-play.

As to the question of if all CSTV sites got the makeover, the answer is no. Depending on your contract with them, you get a facelift as part of your deal every 2-3 years. Some sites never get a facelift without re-paying (some people only pay CSTV a one-time set up fee and get no technical support whatsoever).

You’ll recall that UMass’s web site looked similar to this all of last year and part of the year before. They were on a different cycle and got this facelift ahead of Charlotte. SLU Billikens is now behind (looks like the old Charlotte site).

You can actually go here: http://www.cstv.com/online/partners/cstv-partners.html to see some of their other sites, new redesigns and new launches, etc.

But someone please please make the video stop auto-playing and fix the photo in the header of the site.
