i couldn’t even see the game live… i recorded it to a tape and saw the final score and decided to watch the game. That was a mistake. What HAPPENED tonight??? NOTHING was going right for us. what was withers doing… plavich was hitting the 3’s ok… drayton… that amazing three from the top of the key was so off… goldwire played ok for a freshman, iti… pass, eddie playing point was a DUMB mistake… we desperately needed baldwin. I hope we’ll play them better at home, and i HOPE we play better against marquette. we really need to prove ourselves that game and blow them out. Any comments guys?
I wish the announcers would quit telling that “Baby Ben Wallace” story. Maybe he left everything in the international tournament. He’s a shadow of last year. A loss always leaves a bitter taste in my mouth, but a loss to Cincy just makes me want to throw a temper tantrum.
the problem with curt tonight was he WOULDNT GET PHYSICAL with cincy… i know cincy’s a very physical team, but standing outside the arc jacking up 3’s … wait he made one 3… a bank wasn’t it - i couldn’t watch the rest of the game after watching 10 mins. into the second half. correct me if i’m wrong
PHYSICAL! REBOUNDS! BOX OUT! AGRESSIVE!
ENOUGH SAID
i will be at the “goldduster” post cheering myself up if anyone needs me.

He was totally intimidated and should never be called "Ben Wallace Jr." again.

[/b]well even though you get blocked from what is it? the #1 blocker in the country.. i can't remember, doesn't mean you stop trying.. i mean the more you stand out there afraid the more confident the defender becomes.

coming into the game, i expected so much more out of charlotte. as the first few minutes passed by i knew we were in for something bad… but at half-time i thought we might pull it off. At least until the second half… i might as well not even say how horrible we played in the second half, because you can go to the 10 most recent forums and you’ll see everyone complaining about the same thing… seems kind of redundant to bother talking about. i hope this loss will send a message to our team to WAKE UP and play in time for marquette. we need to win that game.
Plav had that one three, first quater, where he shot it sideways and like landed on the bench after shooting, it ringed the rim and came out. everyone we were watching it with got excited…WTF? what is good about a shot like that? true it almost went in, but even if it did you dont cheer, you take a step back and ask him please dont do that crap again. I would take his half court shot anyday over what he was throwing up tonight.
i love dirt!

well, he knows he can make them, so he shoots it… no matter how awkward or off-balance he is. I think he’s a great shooter… and great shooters have bad days and they have good days… plav was having an off-day, though he made three 3’s… i don’t know. and you can’t really complain about how he was shooting… cincy was sticking to him like glue… i didn’t see any open looks, correct me if i’m wrong. he had to get it off somehow.
Plavich has drove me crazy a lot this season but I am not going to rag on his shot selection much tonight because I would, as stated on another thread, rather him take those shots which he has proven he can make then watch Withers stumble and turn it over or miss shots down low. SOMEONE EXPLAIN TO ME HOW HE HAS GOTTEN SO BAD THIS YEAR?

Cinci’s defense was much too quick and physical for them, so lots of shots were rushed and ugly, or blocked. I don’t know how many blocks they were credited with, but it seemd like about 20! It was painful to watch our inability to take advantage of their aggressiveness most of the night, with few headfakes, backdoors, etc. We also lost several balls with overpassing cause guys were afraid to take it up hard.
Who teaches these guys to set screens? They are either soft, or they break it off too soon, or when they finally set a good hard screen, they don’t get their feet set in time! Very ugly!!
agreed. 100%. nice post.
Plav’s shot in the second half was the only thing that kept us as close as we were.
Jason Maxiell destroyed us on the inside, where was that guy who said Jason who? at now. Cincy was amazing, they looked like garbage in the first half, luckily for them they got to play the second half.
Eddie played amazing, considering he was out of position all night. Their inside game just took ours to school, and our perimeter D was par for the course. We still need a defensive coordinator.
yeah… we should do better vs. marquette… at least i hope we will.
yeah… maxiell destroyed us on the inside. They out rebounded us like crazy. Curt was scared to death of him. (at least that’s what i saw)
